But, and it is a big but,

Whoever wrote this has just give me an unintentional laugh. Sorry.

I am fat and I do have a big butt.

I am currently doing the blood sugar diet as I was unhappy with my size. I am touching 40 and never wanted to be fat and forty. I started at 15st 7 and am down to 13st 10.

I don't want to be skinny as I lost a lot of weight in the past and it was a pretty miserable time for me. I didn't feel good then either.

I'm after a happy medium.

I think you can be fairly happy and fat while you are young but as you get older it really affects your mobility and energy and it's harder to be happy.

If you are fat and unhappy, you probably don't believe it is possible to reach a healthy weight and stay there. But it really is.

I am about 6' and got down to healthy weight a few years ago - it drifted up again and I'm currently just getting back under 14 stone and hoping to get into the 12.5 - 13 range again. I know what works for me and it's just a question of managing to keep it up and not fall head first into the food at the first stress/celebration/sod it moment.

I just calorie counted on Weight Loss Resources. www.weightlossresources.co.uk/lostart.htm
but there are lots of other sites eg My Fitness Pal.

At 6', what works for me is around 2,000 cals a day, plus daily moderate exercise. I didn't cut out any food groups, just aimed for lowish GI. If I do a bit of exercise I have enough calories for a daily moderate treat so I don't feel deprived. If you message me, I can send you a link to my "success story" which gives more details of what worked for me.

Writing this post is a sign you are thinking about doing something about it. You really can if you want to. Good luck finding some peace of mind around your eating and your body.
