This is the best outcome by miles. No hard brexit. (The city now predicts soft Brexit or even no Brexit!!!) No more crazy ideas by either side. Compromise. Tories given a good slap in the face for this stupid election.

This is the first election day in a long time with a good result!

I didn't vote for the DUP.

Did you?

Lweji · 10/06/2017 07:02

The idea of Trump and Corbyn being alike is funny.

Clearly, some people aren't very aware of what Trump is like.
I'd compare more with May. All those U turns... Wink

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/06/2017 07:48

Did you vote, Make?

I do recall you saying you were from the US a few threads ago.

MoominFlaps · 10/06/2017 08:00

PMSL re JC being like Trump.

Scandelicious · 10/06/2017 08:19

There are just so many similarities between JC and Trump! Don't know how you can't see it. Quite funny that it even extends to their relationships with women!
But yeah there are some differences: JC doesn't tweet and trump isn't best mates with Hamas.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 10/06/2017 08:23

ConfusedHmm

MirabelleTree · 10/06/2017 08:24

There are some right comedians on this thread Grin

Increasinglymiddleaged · 10/06/2017 08:26

The thing is that you can find similarities between any 2 people. Y'know arms, legs etc.

Sostenueto · 10/06/2017 08:33

Ruth Davidson saved the Tories. If she had not been so successful in Scotland May would have been toilet paper. Her campaign was totally different to Mays and she is now seeking assurances on lgtb rights from her in the light of the pact with DUP. Meanwhile back on the ranch of Tory backbenchers 3 Tory MPs contemplating writing a letter to evoke article 22 a no confidence thingy. Think Davidson might be up for leadership contest. And I am chuffed with situation as it makes for interesting times watching Tories run round like headless chickens knifing each other in the back as they go.

Sostenueto · 10/06/2017 08:40

Trump is the devil incarnate. JC never abuses anyone, is a leftie but a gentleman. Is a pacifist and ran a great campaign. He genuinely believes in his policies and the people and he listens. Couldn't care about his past as none of us are perfect. May is a power hungry incompetent smirking female Cameron. She failed to listen. She insulted JC and His team incessantly proving she ain't no lady and got a damn good kicking in the gob for it.

MoominFlaps · 10/06/2017 08:41

Any evidence that Jeremy is "best mates" with Hamas? Apart from the usual calling them friends which he admits was a poor choice of words?

AppleCiderVinegar · 10/06/2017 08:51

YADNBU!

birdsdestiny · 10/06/2017 08:57

Is that our ambition for the labour party now then, to be slightly less dodgy on our associates than the Tories.
I see Livingstone was chuntering on yesterday, anti semitism anyone? to go with our pacifism and being a gentleman. I know I need to forget about the labour party as it has nothing for me anymore but it is hard to do.

Scandelicious · 10/06/2017 09:11

Here you go Moomin:

According to your Dear Leader, Hamas is nowt but a peaceful organization in search of political and social justice. What an idiot. Is he aware of what they do to their fellow palestinians?

As well as calling them friends which is more than a 'poor choice of words'.

Sostenueto · 10/06/2017 09:14

I think what we have to face the fact that the face of politics in this country has changed. It is impossible for ANY of the parties to please the electorate. There are so many divides in our population, monetary, brexit, age to name but a few. Our population is diverse, and, other countries too are struggling with this. JC certainly did well coming from nowhere to equal % of vote to Blair's in 1997. Now a lot of people today spouting exceptional result for the election. No it is not. Churchills defeat after the war was! There were people voting tactically, people voting how they always had, people voting for the first time. Remainers wanting to hold on to no brexit, others wanting hard brexit, others soft etc. What was a factor was the surge to labour after the manifesto was announced. Old style manifesto did appeal. The question is why did this appeal to 30 million people considering the diversity of the electorate? JC couldn't put through nationalisation if we were still in EU because it would not be allowed, so points to wanting hard brexit. But on the other hand all know soft brexit is JCs preference. His other policies point assuredly to soft. It is definitely a mandate that is an old democratic one and people genuinely lived it. I would say given another few weeks he may have won outright. But why? These are things that may be classed as extraordinary, maybe.

Scandelicious · 10/06/2017 09:17

Oh, and here he is eulogizing Chavez...an inspiration to all of us apparently. So Corbyn thinks Venezuela is a model to copy. FFS.

Scandelicious · 10/06/2017 09:20

Labour should have won.
Tories are weak at the moment, poor economic growth, unpopular policies, unpopular leader (who was polling always less than her party - she should never have made the campaign about her), Brexit mess.
Labour should have won. And I think they would have with a good leader. Thankfully the UK didn't completely do what the US did with Trump.

Sostenueto · 10/06/2017 09:21

May sells arms to Saudi, we give aide to North Korea, the Tories hands are most certainly not clean! Stop spouting old rhetoric about JC no one is perfect, past is past for goodness sake come up with a better argument its all so BORING scandelicious![hmm

Sostenueto · 10/06/2017 09:23

Oops not meant to be you scandeliciousFlowers profound apologies

Scandelicious · 10/06/2017 09:24

Tories, labour - no ones hand are clean.

But this was 4 years ago!! Not during some misspent youth!! This is who he is!! Such an idiot. So glad he won't be PM

Sostenueto · 10/06/2017 09:25

Think I'd better go back to bed am confused!

noclevername · 10/06/2017 09:27

are there any petitions worth signing ?

Sostenueto · 10/06/2017 09:27

Scandelicious I DID MEAN YOU (swipes flowers and apologies back) Angry

ShoesHaveSouls · 10/06/2017 09:28

We've just had 7 weeks of wall to wall, 24hr a day, bad mouthing and smearing of Corbyn by the RW media.

Yet people still came out and voted for him - the young in particular - his campaigning turned the expected Tory landslide into a hung parliament. I'm not a particular Corbynista, but I did vote labour. The man did good.

Sostenueto · 10/06/2017 09:30

Scandal you will eat those words as May leaves No10 with tail between her legs in the very near future.
