Just watched Wonder Woman earlier today and I'm not sure if I want to be her or if I want to marry her. DP doesn't agree and thinks that Mila Kunis would make a much better WW. AIBU or is she?

She is the most talented actress Hollywood have 'allowed' for some time...I almost cried watching WW due to the portrayal of strong women in it, that and it is the most fantastic superhero film ever made.

I feel like saying I had a crush on her would be bowing to the misogynistic idea of reducing her to a sexual object. Whilst she is obviously beautiful, I'd rather discuss how talented she is and what this will do for young women.

Blimey I must see this film asap!

Lots of Israelis didn't post "I love the idf" in the middle of the gaza invasion (or whatever word you want to use) - that context is crucial. Lots of Israelis were opposed to that action, or supported it reluctantly.

To reduce this to it being simply because she is Israeli is totally unacceptable.

I agree she is a stunning woman.

Sorry seoul I wasn't intending to make a particularly strong assertion on her politics. I, in fact, immediately questioned her apparent 'Zionism' as a consequence of a non-front line conscripted role in the IDF, as that seemed very loose 'evidence' for her 'Zionism'. It's clear from my subsequent reading that she is reasonably open about her politics and thus, this is perhaps why posters before me have formed their opinions. I wasn't trying to argue either way.

She was pregnant through much of the film. 5 months by the time of the extra scenes. They had to use cgi to disguise it.

The political opinions of actors have always ranged from lefty liberal to rabidly right wing. Just most very famous actors don't come from such a politically charged home country. Mel Gibson for instance - what's his excuse? Gal Gadot is amazing and beautiful and I completely agree about the attitudes to women this film has brought out. All the articles have really pissed me off! But glad to see there is also huge support and v pleased it's such a big success.

Re. Israel. Whenever you disagree with their political decisions (which I often do) remember that the UK govt went to war in Iraq. Did you automatically assume everyone in the UK supported/wanted/agreed that course of action? Obviously not.
