Shop assistant rude

I went to boots to get one of those foundation matches and just as the lady was about to match me I remembered that I'd used a facial moisturiser with added self tan the night before. It really didn't occur to me before then but when I realised I asked her if I could just come back another time as the match is unlikely to match my skin tone. Her reply was 'well you know we have a lot of customers and you should have thought about that before you came'. I asked her could she stop being rude as it was a mistake and it takes all of two seconds to match it anyways, she started raising her voice and began to tell me how ridiculous I was for coming the night after I had tanned my face. I just turned around and accidentally on purpose knocked some stuff off her stand with my huge handbag, walked out and told her to calm down and that was that. I'm so pissed off though should I complain even though I was equally as unreasonable by knocking the things over? She was so fiesty and down my throat I really can't believe her rudeness

OP, that was childish as well as rude, wasn't it?

Trifleorbust · 04/06/2017 06:42

But I just want to enter a plea that we don't call women "cunts". I like my cunt. This poster sounds like a PITA.

GinIsIn · 04/06/2017 06:48

What are you, 5? Hmm

Groovee · 04/06/2017 06:52

Fair enough that you made a mistake but then knocking a display was the childish part. Are you always like this when people don't speak to you how you think they should.

Sparklingbrook · 04/06/2017 06:52

Blimey such drama. Rude shop assistant quickly followed by childish rudeness by the customer.

londonrach · 04/06/2017 06:52

Op you do realise you might be banned from boots now. If this is real you were alot worse and very childish which now im sure you can see now. If not banned apologise to her if you see her again.

WateryTart · 04/06/2017 07:02

Oh dear. Rude cow calls someone else rude and her stupidity is pointed out to her.

Your responses on this thread make me doubt this happened the way you say it did, OP.

I suggest you go back with a lovely bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates to make amends for your extremely childish and petulant behaviour.

feathermucker · 04/06/2017 07:10

You sound like a young child throwing a tantrum.

Of course you shouldnt.complaon; you will sound utterly ridiculous.

Paninotogo · 04/06/2017 07:12

Awww OP, I bet you feel like a right twat now don't you? You really were ridiculous, never mind though no one need ever know in real life. just don't ever go back to boots and act like cunty tosser

Blondielongie · 04/06/2017 07:13

I think an apology would be nice. Go back with chocolates and explain that you were having a bad day and you mistook her tone for rude and it made you see red because you were already having a shit day. what counter was it? If it was your local and regular you should try and make amends (you don't want to piss off your make up people. End of freebies!!)

NotACleverName · 04/06/2017 07:15

Are you 12 years old?

Glamorousglitter · 04/06/2017 07:16

She may have been a bit rude - imho she simply told you the truth - it was a bit silly of you not to think of that - but not the end of the world, you let yourself down massively by your response however, how churlish and immature.

jarhead123 · 04/06/2017 07:16

Your behaviour was far worse!

As a retail worker I can tell you that you'll be giving all the staff a good laugh today at least! Customers ridiculous behaviour is the best staff room chat.

Dailystuck71 · 04/06/2017 07:21

You behaved like a brat OP.

NellieBuff · 04/06/2017 07:24

I agree that she was probably rude but you had absolutely no right to know over items (does not matter how many) with your large handbag. That's the actions of a toddler not a grown woman. Use it as a learning exercise and move on.

NellieBuff · 04/06/2017 07:25

*knock

onesilencetoofar · 04/06/2017 07:27

Sorry but you made yourself look like a twat and now you won't be able to go back. If you do go back prepare to be matched to the wrong foundation shade.

Haffiana · 04/06/2017 07:29

Yes, you should go and stand in the corner with a wet nappy on your head. And then go back and apologise.

TyneTeas · 04/06/2017 07:34

Sorry hesterton's dh Grin

A make up assistant in Boots was once rude to my friend who has MS, uses a mobility scooter and walks with a stick. We were there together and my friend was waiting at her counter for help. She acted like she didn't exist and wasn't worthy of her help. Instead of bollocking her and knocking her display down, we left her counter and went to Clinique where the assistant was lovely. I then emailed Boots and told them what I thought of 1st assistant and made sure they knew how amazing their Clinique assistant was and how she went out of her way to help my friend. I assume Boots assistant got a bollocking. End result for us is now, whenever we go to Clinique to buy stuff for my friend now the assistant gives us little samples as well as excellent customer service.

Much better than both of us having a go at first one, getting wound up and feeling so shit I had to write about it on MN and then abuse posters who disagreed with me.

BTW OP, you can't decide when a thread is finished, especially when you're as rude as assistant you complained about. HTH
