AIBU to ask the woman next to me for her gherkin?

I'm in McDonalds and the woman next to me has removed the 2 pieces of gherkin from her burger and put them on the side.

God I want them. The best bit of a McDonalds. Maybe I can distract her then grab them.

Speaking of special orders, my friend orders a cheeseburger.....without the burger....it's very embarrassing

Pinkheart5917 · 31/05/2017 11:25

Ummmm, it's too embarrassing to admit to the crazy price I pay for these on Amazon right?

Omg they are quite expensive. Are they American imports?

I know, I know .... but they are SO good.

Condiments are very important to me...

They are bottled in Pittsburgh - the tag line on the label is
"A common condiment done un commonly well'

Tag line does not lie.

The key question is: Do they taste like the McDonalds ones?

Maybe a to the discerning palette a tad more tart (no added sugar), and they are a bit thicker, but mix it up with ketchup then - yussss.

If I didn't think they were the best part I'd let you have mine x a little old man recently asked me for the bean sticker from my coffee so he could get tommorrow done free- he walked off chuffed as anything

Darcydashwood · 01/06/2017 02:10

You need to get this in your lives. A squeezy gerkin relish. Tastes just like Maccy's gerkins. It's ace squeezed on burgers and hot dogs (or just on a spoon Blush)

I've learnt the hard way not to covet my neighbour's best bits. At a large birthday Sunday lunch I spent a long time wondering how rude it'd be to ask the French stepmother of a friend of the host (so never met her before & not likely to again) if I could eat her crackling. I watched her put it to one side; made sure she hadn't gnawed on it; rummaged through my French to ask politely but just before I did she smothered it in silly-fucking-bitch (as we call Dijon on my house) mustard & ate the lot.

I think the suggestions re upping your own gherkin allocation are more practical than ogling the treasures of someone who may be just taunting you.

*tea! Damn my fat fingers!

They definitely don't discount for no gherkins. I get my burger with no meat and it's the same price!

(And they don't even put extra gherkins in!)

Of course it is, because there's absolutely no way to discount for anything on the till.

And if you ask for no meat but don't specify extra gherkins, why would they put extra in? Confused

Of course if you're asking and not getting, that's another matter entirely.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 01/06/2017 21:07

Well, the gherkins comment was a joke... Hmm

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 01/06/2017 21:26

Good Grin

ShelaghTurner · 01/06/2017 21:37

Janey mac. So much fuss about slimey vinegary green things. I can take or leave them. Used to pull them out but can't be arsed any more. But begging for them, buying them in Sainsbos? Madness.

The burger sauce on the other hand.... 😋

FatPiggy · 01/06/2017 21:42

Thanks to this thread I have just eaten half a jar of "Mrs Elswood cucumber spears with dill". I could probably eat the rest but my mouth hurts. They are even better than mcdonalds gherkins and about £1.80 a jar in asda.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017, our regional manager is fine with us using our discretion for things like this. I've honestly never heard of a manager who would give a shit over a sundae lid of pickles. It's not like it happens often.
