To eat a whole bag of crisps

So the title really.
I've got the day off work and I've eaten a full bag of those £1 grab bag sharing packets of crisps. (I've had no breakfast or lunch) I was just nibbling while reading.
My partner however thinks it's shocking I can eat a whole bag.
Would you be able to eat a whole bag? Aibu?

I've just eaten three bags of French Fries one after the other - I think you're ok with your grab bag!

maddiemookins16mum · 30/05/2017 16:37

YANBU. It's a one off. I'm working from home today (just stopped for a cuppa) and have eaten a small bowl of pringles, a tangerine, a chocolate hijab and a slice of ham straight from the packet (filth).
Normally I make myself a packed lunch and put it in the fridge.

expatinscotland · 30/05/2017 17:25

I'd have gone for a large portion of chips myself. With curry sauce. Plus, salt. One of these days, something is going to kill us all. Oh, the horror! The horror!

BitOutOfPractice · 30/05/2017 17:30

LTB Angry

expatinscotland · 30/05/2017 18:00

Food bores and food police are among the most tedious people on the planet.

IHaveBrilloHair · 30/05/2017 18:24

My cupboard.

To eat a whole bag of crisps
expatinscotland · 30/05/2017 18:26

I caught diabetes just from looking at that, Brillo.

babyturtles · 30/05/2017 18:26

Can polish off a big bag of onion ring or bacon rasher crisps with ease!

Unfortunately I'm low carbing (8months now) and can't demonstrate Sad

DavetheCat2001 · 30/05/2017 18:35

CRISP SANDWICH

Ragwort · 30/05/2017 18:48

expat ^^ totally agree, the food snobs/bores on Mumnset are so tedious (although it's quite amusing reading their weekly menu plans and sniggering at their grilled sea bass and quinoa meals Grin).

I never forget one comment when someone wrote about cooking something like 'spag bol' and another mumsnetter said 'I just never eat food like that' Hmm.

Northgate · 30/05/2017 19:00

What gets me is SIL the food police people who say things like "I never eat crisps, they're so unhealthy" and then, when you go round to their house, have cupboards literally filled with cakes and sugary biscuits. Like that's so much healthier Hmm

Northgate · 30/05/2017 19:01

Love your cupboard BTW Brillo.

I just don't have enough self control to keep that many crisps in my house Wink

RiversrunWoodville · 30/05/2017 19:06

Ooh Davethecat just took it to a whole new level

Mustang27 · 30/05/2017 19:06

Regularly!! Average size 10 when not preggers

expatinscotland · 30/05/2017 20:18

Oh, yeah, I'm a size - 3.14 ad infinitum, even when pregnant with quadruplets.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 30/05/2017 21:23

A chocolate hijab?

Oysterbabe · 30/05/2017 21:28

YABU as the best grab bags are beef hula hoops which I scoffed today and wish I had more of right now.

DoingTheSwanThing · 30/05/2017 21:34

Mmmmm crisps.
Walkers prawn cocktail (4 "normal" bags)
Or a couple of ready salted seabrooks with a jar or crunchy peanut butter.
No judging here OP

orenisthenewblack · 30/05/2017 21:40

I eat a big sharing bag of crisps in one sitting, no problem my treat after slimming world weigh-in

Want2beme · 30/05/2017 21:40

I have a 150g bag to myself every Saturday. My treat. Don't care.

Instasista · 30/05/2017 21:43

Why would you even ask the Internet this? It's a bit pathetic to need help with it, surely?

Mustang27 · 30/05/2017 21:48

Expat was that aimed at me? I meant I'm just an everage slightly soft (muffin top) size 10 when I'm not pregnant. When pregnant I'm generally a good 4st heavier.

Any way sorry I pissed you off

Catherinebee85 · 30/05/2017 21:49

Haha @Wooly17

7 years pregnant? You deserve the whole damn chocolate cake! I'm 6 months and that's hard enough Grin

daisychain01 · 30/05/2017 21:50

I hope the food industry goes back to doing small individual packs. When you go into petrol stations, the crisp bags are humungus, they're about 3 times the size of a normal packet. Sometimes I only fancy a small bag of something and end up eating way too much.

Then we'll get the government pontificating about how people should eat less snacks and sugary drinks but they do bugger all to influence portion sizes by the manufacturers.

expatinscotland · 30/05/2017 21:52

'Then we'll get the government pontificating about how people should eat less snacks and sugary drinks but they do bugger all to influence portion sizes by the manufacturers.'

Why should they? People need to take personal responsibility for themselves. Larger bags = less packaging. That's a good thing. If you can't police yourself it's not the government's fault or responsibility.
