To eat a whole bag of crisps

So the title really.
I've got the day off work and I've eaten a full bag of those £1 grab bag sharing packets of crisps. (I've had no breakfast or lunch) I was just nibbling while reading.
My partner however thinks it's shocking I can eat a whole bag.
Would you be able to eat a whole bag? Aibu?

Yep, I've eaten bags that size a few times. That's may be why I am two stone overweight though!

Whitney168 · 30/05/2017 14:16

Anyone who eats cheese & onion crisps is automatically unreasonable, I made my husband get out of bed and re-brush his teeth the other night because the smell of them makes me feel sick.

Walkers Thai chilli Sensations, on the other hand ... Have had to stop buying them, I just can't be trusted - and I don't normally particularly go for crisps.

DeepfriedPizza · 30/05/2017 14:18

I regularly eat 3 bags of crisps a day, normal sized ones. I've had a packet of pork scratching and a packet of monster munch today. I also had a massive salad and eggs so it's all about balance innit Wink

SuperFlyHigh · 30/05/2017 14:20

I regularly eat a whole big bag over the course of a week, a nightly ritual, sometimes with a G&T, sometimes with wine, sometimes with camomile tea.

My big bags are Walkers Thai Sensations, Twiglets, Penn State pretzels Sour Cream and Chive, to cure a hangover, Doritos Cheesy nachos with the hot salsa.

Judge away!

AliCat36 · 30/05/2017 14:20

Just tell him they're made from potatoes so they're one of your five-a-day Smile

SuperFlyHigh · 30/05/2017 14:21

hmc agreed with the overweight, mine is probably a stone or so overweight.

Like DeepFriedPizza I balance this out with salad, meals with veg etc and fruit so it's not all bad!

daisychain01 · 30/05/2017 14:22

Very occasionally, not a big deal.

Too often and you won't exactly be doing yourself any good.

your body, your choice, it isn't about being unreasonable, if you want to increase risk of heart disease, diabetes etc then that's the risk you take.

I'd stop buying grab bags, Buy individual bags then you don't end up eating the whole lot.

OhBlissOhJoy · 30/05/2017 14:23

There was a programme on snacks last week and a share bag is apparently the equivalent of 5 individual bags.

That is a statement, not a judgement. I also want crisps now.

ArgyMargy · 30/05/2017 14:28

Not keen on crisps, to be honest. YABU

PoohBearsHole · 30/05/2017 14:28

I have to buy ones I don't like as I'm such a crisp addict that I could polish off a 6 pack without thinking about it Blush

savoury snack as area weakness - biscuits I couldn't give two hoots about as much!

HerOtherHalf · 30/05/2017 14:29

Crisps are made from potatoes. Tell him they're one of your 5-a-day. Infact, if they were cheese and onion, the onion counts as the 2nd of your 5-a-day. See how long you can keep a straight face.

Easy! Crisps are my weakness.

So the OP has made an environmentally positive contribution then as that's 4 bags that won't be going to landfill.

I love threads like this and how it brings people out who would never let food that isn't organically sourced or not of any nutritional value pass their lips. Biscuits? Hell no, I had a rice cake three years ago, that's my sugar intake for the millennium. Crisps? I prefer air dried kale.

Live a little, everything in moderation.

I love crisps - they are definitely my snack of choice - and can easily eat a large bag of Kettle chips type crisps or a tube of Pringles in one sitting (not every day).

your body, your choice, it isn't about being unreasonable, if you want to increase risk of heart disease, diabetes etc then that's the risk you take.

I choose crisps, I also choose to be practically tee-total, not smoking, exercising 4-5 times a week and have a BMI of 20, so I'll take the risk.

PurpleDaisies · 30/05/2017 14:52

I'd stop buying grab bags, Buy individual bags then you don't end up eating the whole lot.

It can be quite hard to buy a 30g lone bag of crisps these days. All the shops near me only seem to do multipack bags or big bags.

I can't have crisps in the house or I'll eat them. I get them as a special treat now and again and I refuse to feel guilty. I'd much rather eat crisps than chocolate or biscuits.

If you're only doing this now and again, nothing to worry about op.

PurpleDaisies · 30/05/2017 14:55

Just a warning-bailey's link isn't to a blog-it's a site selling essays and assignments. Spam alert.

I can never find individual bags of the premium type crisps (Kettle etc), just the sharing bags. Annoying, because a 40g bag is just enough crisps for me. A big bag is too much, but I still can't stop myself scoffing the lot once bag is opened.

Northgate · 30/05/2017 15:31

Tesco's sell multipacks (5 x 30g I think) of salt and vinegar, lightly salted, and cheddar & onion Kettle Chips.

picklemepopcorn · 30/05/2017 16:10

I'm hungry, now .

I've never started a second bag after having eaten a whole one on my own...

picklemepopcorn · 30/05/2017 16:11

Sorry, should say

Screwinthetuna · 30/05/2017 16:16

Of course you aren't, tell him to shut up. Weird would be to be one of those people who get a sharing bag and put a little handful in a teeny bowl and only eat them ;) Unless you are obese or have some medical issue that means you shouldn't eat much salt, tell him to jog on.

tabithaa · 30/05/2017 16:17

I'd prob eat 2 Shock
