Benefit concert well done lovely and hope you are ok

I think it's extremely brave for Ariana to want to do another concert.

She must be shaken to the core and is already feeling guilt for some terrorists extremist actions which were nothing to do with her and certainly in no way her fault or her responsibility.

I'm glad your DD is recovering OP.
I agree people often don't think of the longer term effects of such tragedy. I'm not sure it's possible to imagine the true horror of life changing events.

Mumzypopz · 26/05/2017 21:20

Is the benefit concert free for people affected? Or does everyone have to pay and the money go to charity?

Mumzypopz · 26/05/2017 21:22

Not being funny, just trying to understand it.

2014newme · 26/05/2017 21:24

@mumzypop
No further details other than there will be a concert
Norm would be victims, their families and representatives of emergency services free.

Mumzypopz · 26/05/2017 21:26

2014newme.... thanks

Pollydonia · 26/05/2017 21:34

Op, much love to you and your DD Flowers

StorminaBcup · 26/05/2017 21:41

There's been a Red Cross donation page and a few others which have all merged so the total for those affected is around £ 4.1m. Money doesn't really change anything but hopefully it will be one less thing for those families to have to deal with.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 26/05/2017 22:14

If the op's husband was self employed at the time of their incident then he should have had public liability insurance or personal liability insurance.

It's not hard to understand. OPs daughter was caught up in a disaster, maybe a coach crash abroad scenario or something; DH took time off work. Having an ill child eats up time and money.

Diane ignore the twattyness.

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 26/05/2017 22:36

It doesn't take much reading of MN to discover that a significant proportion of households are living pretty close to the bone and would be unable to afford insurance. They would be the households that would also find the massive added expense of having a child in hospital the hardest.

Faux naivety abut that feels a bit sneery.

percythepenguin · 26/05/2017 22:38

bitch ** how would public or personal liability insurance cover taking time off to spend with a sick child? I'm self employed and my have income protection insurance to cover if I'm sick but it wouldn't cover time off with a sick child!

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 27/05/2017 00:36

Sorry just to clarify we were not caught up in this thank god. donkey thdnk you

My point was and I am sorry but vigils snd praise don't pay your bills and mortgage but in our case we were 'lucky' Sad as had Someome to sue.

Ugly as it is once the publicity and the sympathy goes bills need to be l
Paid so good on Ariana for doing a benefit concert.

Ignore them OP - I understood what you meant. I consider myself pedantic but some posters take it to a whole new level of cuntiness

Leanback · 27/05/2017 00:51

1.7 million has also been raised by the general public to support the families of those affected.

www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/westandtogethermanchester

I'm in Manchester and there have been collection boxes everywhere - in supermarkets, shopping centres even at my GP's

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 27/05/2017 00:54

And reading my posts they are a bit confusing sorry the heat and emotion combined.

I was just so pleased that money was being raised as the costs of having s sick child are beyond belief. You can't work! You need to move to the area where they are doing rehab for months and months you may have siblings that need help or elderly parents that had relied on you. It's so costly and unless you have a person to sue you are fucked.

I totally get posters are confused but hopefully this will clarify

These parents will need every penny ugly as that sounds just to survive

It's a nice thing for her to do, she actually seems like a nice woman.

khajiit13 · 27/05/2017 01:03

Are people really making jokes? Really? At what? The idea of it or OP's spelling? Are you fucking serious

I'm not sure why she'd want to come back but i think it would comfort a lot of people. I think it is great.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 27/05/2017 01:09

Ah just rtft. Sorry you have an ill child op, recent events must have struck a cord with you and I agree, not everyone appreciates life after the incident and the impact it has.

user1491572121 · 27/05/2017 01:09

For some of those families affected, their only breadwinner might now be unable to work....lots of adults were injured. Same with visiting children in hospital...time off work and money for travel.

The gofundme has raised almost 2 million already. And Liam Gallagher is doing a solo gig to raise money too.

Ariana will spend time individually with her fans when she comes. I'm glad something is being done for the families.x

OkPedro · 27/05/2017 01:14

Sorry but the original post was confusing..

Dianne I totally agree, anyone facing long term rehab needs at least one parent to be there 24/7

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 27/05/2017 01:20

I knew what the op was referring to pedro, maybe she could have used a few more words but the jist of it was there. Even if people hadn't seen the news today.
