Seems a bit early, though...

I wasn't drinking a rum and coke just after 12 today in the garden with a friend.

I am sat in the garden with a large G&T enjoying the peace before OH arrives with DSDs for a BBQ (I have put some pretty fairy lights up for them outside though Grin

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 26/05/2017 17:31

I'm drinking cider.

Saucery · 26/05/2017 17:31

That sounds divine. I am having a Rioja with sparkly water and ice.

acquilegiannie · 26/05/2017 17:31

What are you afraid of?

That you are actually an alcoholic, or that you might turn into one?

Too feckin anal if you ask me. But that's a British thing for a lot of people, keeping up appearances. Sun has to go over the yardarm shyte.

You really do not need approval or opprobrium from a bunch of nutters on the internet do you? Just do it.

FGS are you an adult or a child.

Allthebestnamesareused · 26/05/2017 17:32

Tapandgo · 26/05/2017 17:36

Enjoying prosecco in very hot garden now - no guilt, no addiction, just pleasure on a lovely day

Saucery · 26/05/2017 17:36

Do you need some vodka in your unsweetened grapefruit juice, acquil? You seem a little .....fraught

Tiptoethr0ughthetulips · 26/05/2017 17:37

If I wasn't pregnant I'd be on it. Do it for me please... I'm hot and fat and swollen and tired.

acquilegiannie · 26/05/2017 17:37

Cheers everyone.

It has been a very sad week given what happened in Manchester.

A bit of down time from all the sadness is good for everyone. Enjoy.

ImperialBlether · 26/05/2017 17:37

Doesn't drinking at this time of day in the heat give you a headache, though? I'd be fit for nothing if I was doing that.

acquilegiannie any need to be so dickish about it?

Just come home from work and having a mojito yum

metspengler · 26/05/2017 17:39

Well that was just lovely, I might have to follow it up with a g&t now Crowdblundering has mentioned the idea.

Obviously after half an hour or something.

@acquile - beautiful pep talk thank you (I bet you are an amazing going out chum Grin ) on the topic of british things, I think getting a little squiffy the second the sun shows its face and you're off work is as British a tradition as it gets. Chocks away!

Imperial, a painkiller will sort that out. AFTER the event. But if it doesn't work for you, no one is saying you have to.

FlossyMooToo · 26/05/2017 17:40

As soon as I have dropped DDs friend home I am having a very large white wine. I am clock watching and wondering if dropping her off 10 mins early would be wrong Grin

metspengler · 26/05/2017 17:42

Don't worry darling, I'm sure between us we can keep your end up Flowers

I'd be fit for nothing if I was doing that.

Here's what I intend to be fit for:

  • telling the kids to bugger off to bed when they get home and ordering a takeaway
  • enjoying sunshine
  • watching a bee go lazily from flower to flower in my garden and hoping it doesn't sting me
  • watching some of the new series of bloodlines
  • sleep

I live in an old house that takes ages to warm up, Imperial. I should be ok to drink until about mid June if I keep the curtains shut.
