(or mine or the kids). WIBU to say the tiger has eaten it all and go down the road to a cafe?

Can't believe anyone would let that tiger in when they just know what he's going to do. I mean, you've read the book over a thousand times and it's still not sunk in. What kind of a lesson are you sending your kids?

Cancel the cheque tiger

I worry about Sophie's diet. Mumsnet should be most unhappy with Sophie's parents. Buns, sausages, chips, ice cream.... Where's the organic lentil bake and salad?

Mumchance · 25/05/2017 15:46

The tiger is a metaphor for Mummy's stifled sexuality. He and his prodigious appetites are Mummy's little animalistic, back-clawing afternoon treat dressed up in child-friendly form. I don't believe for one second his visit was a one-off.

there were so many unanswered questions in that book

'the tiger looked around the kitchen for something else to eat'
and apparently managed to miss the palatable small human hugging him which would probably be a more appropriate diet than buns, beer and bathwater

I suspect the tiger did not eat all mummys pills from the cupboard or drink all mummys gin, and that is why she was so sanguine about it all

and dont get me started on prissy elmer the patchwork 'Im so unique and special' elephant

As a child I loved the idea of going to a cafe in nighty and wellies... even more than the excitement of the tiger himself.

Now I get cross with the mum for not sorting things out herself (instead of whining to the dad), and worried that the chicken is kept at the top of the fridge.
