Since DD was born I have come to understand it will be a while before I get to experience what I used to enjoy again. So I have been trying to think of the simple pleasure to help me get through the day of endless cleaning up sick and doing chores.
I really enjoy washing my hair in a steaming hot shower, especially when someone else is holding the baby so she isn't in the bathroom with me 😅
Or hanging out the washing in the sunshine.

Kissing my kids goodnight
Early morning run then a hot shower
Driving along country lanes in the sun singing along to radio.
Coming home from work after cleaner has been and sitting in a clean tidy house for half an hour before everyone arrives back at wrecks it again
Deck chair in the garden
Sleeping after yoga
Sex in front of a log fire 🔥

My ds is a teenager so I do get some time to myself but my little pleasures are buying some stationery and also maybe once a month getting my ironing done.

Singing ABBA songs at the cats. But changing the words to suit each cat. Like "Mamma Mia, you've got massive ears".

Yes, I do need to get out more.

Watching the birds in the garden while having my breakfast

A nice bottle of red wine

The feeling of accomplishment I get when my son has settled for the night in his cosy wee bed surrounded by all his toys with a full belly, happy and loved

Getting my slippers on after a day on my feet

Forgot some

Morning cuddles with my son when he slips into bed

Cuddling up to my hubbie as we fall asleep

Walks in the woods and spotting wildlife

Going away for weekends in our caravan

Talking rubbish to the cats and singing to them

Eating the first piece pulled off a roasting hot naan bread - dipping it in the curry sauce

Sniffing the first rose of summer in my garden today - a yellow rose called "The Brownie" which smells of lemon sherbet

Spending time on Pinterest looking at art and recipes mostly

a day off with family, especially if the sun is shining
going for a walk outdoors to spot birds, insects and flowers (this time of year is awesome)
reading something I want to read, rather than for professional reasons
playing a board game with my family
time spent on the coast, walking on the sand and seeing what we can find, maybe even having a cheeky swim in the sea
a hot bath with a good book
a gripping film or television programme
a meal cooked by someone else
a bowl of chopped mango
a proper night's sleep

New stationery.... hubba hubba

I love getting into my bedtime vest, shorts and dressing gown. So relaxing. My ultimate pleasure, and this will make me sound like a soppy git is when my son falls asleep on me, I love it, he's 8 so it's really rare but it makes me feel really happy. On a different note if I need cheering up then a new lipstick always works!

On my train commute back from work, I buy a bar of chocolate at the station and eat it while watching Netflix.

40mins of peace before picking up the DCs.

An early morning ride before the cars are out , and everyone is in bed . Just me, my equine thug , and the birds . Really chilled out time . Well until his feet hit the grass anyway

Very jealous plomino, haven't ridden for a fair few years but that was def my most precious pleasure at the time...and when mine hit grass my face did this too!

I just watched the beginning of an episode of Drag Race and I'm giggling. I can see why you both like it so much. I might be hooked myself now.

My little pleasures are snuggling with my animals, the sound of rain, a hot bath, the smell of my shower gel, clean white sheets, the sound of waves crashing in at the beach. Hot cookies out of the oven. :)

• The perfect cup of tea
• Getting lost in a good book
• Red hot baths (I'm missing these so much right now, I'm pregnant)
• Forest walks with my dogs
