To want a nice thread?

Yeah yeah, I know.
But every other thread is some weird troll trying to convince me their teenager is doing something obscene or someone being disingenuous about family size, meal size, parenting or pet ownership in order to start a ruck.

Anyway.....
I have a new shed and its gorgeous and I painted the inside pink and the outside sage green. I had the day off today and met a friend for coffee in our lovely park and then had another round for lunch IN MY SHED.
And it was sunny all day and I did way over my 10,000 steps.

Only slight negative is that I can't get the sage green paint off my fingernails.

So what nice things did you do today or think today or hear today?

I felt like I did a good job at work today. Very busy, but it flowed nicely which doesn't happen often.

Ds2 got a clean bill of health today after his poorly spell earlier in the year, they had to do his weight and height at the hospital, and he is thrilled to be finally big enough to not need a booster seat and ride The Big One! Simple things that make a child very happy!

Me, I have serious shed envy!

I woke up to discover the awful news in Manchester and feel we need to talk about the 'nice things' even more than we ever have.
The world can be such a horrible place.
We have to think of the small, nice stuff to keep going sometimes.

I think we have to, MrsDV. We'd go mad otherwise. Those poor people at the concert though Flowers

So. Although it seems a little self indulgent to talk about nice things when others are going through horrible things - today's nice thing:

I'm lying in bed with GinDog, glorious sunshine pouring in and DP is downstairs making tea.

So, so sad for Manchester.

But celebrating the small becomes even more important m, you're right MrsDV

So...whilst making DC's breakfast DS stole a strawberry and then brought it back, complete with stick on googley eyes and a fantastic dance Grin

Love the shed, but I adore the flamingos and colourful fence!

I am going to paint my nails in a bright colour when I get home later. A bit of colour always makes everything better.

I'm going to a garden centre later but it's a naice one. I fear they won't have any flamingos or unicorns but maybe I could get a cheery plant to forget to water, terrible gardener!

Sun shining here in Worcestershire. I love your shed and especially the no boys allowed bit. Grin

So so sad about the events in Manchester. The news updates are heartbreaking.

Got plans to meet a friend for coffee and potter in the garden today.

Oh and by a new vacuum cleaner. Rock and roll.

Only just found this, so n8ce to see a happy thread!
I've been suffering with post natal anxiety since DD2 was diagnosed with heart defects last month. I finally made it out the house to a baby group with her yesterday. Made me feel a bit more positive.

I've been a bit down in the dumps lately, for no good reason whatsoever, but Dh and I are off to a festival on Thursday and today is my day off so I can get our campervan ready to go. My Mum is coming over to be with dd so it's an adult only few days for us which will be marvellous.

So lovely to read this thread after the awful news this morning. It's given me some warm fuzzies back.

Love your shed!! Smile

My 21 month DD slept through last night until 7.30am, then snuggled in our bed with giggles and cuddles for ages (not just demanding boob like usual). It was lovely, and now I'm having a hot cuppa with breakfast.

It's already nice and warm here and I've just hung my first lot of towels out to dry. They look lovely and white and I can't wait for the clean smell when I bring them in later.

Also I've had a woodpecker and some goldfinches on my seeds this morning.

Well done for getting out today. Do you have a plan for your DD's treatment? It must have been such a shock for you.

My mum is coming to visit tomorrow. It's been a couple of months since she's seen the one-year-old, and she's one of the few people who are going to be just as excited as DH and I about all the new words he's learnt since then. He's had rather a slow start talking compared to some of my friends' babies, so I can't wait to show off about how much he's learnt. Also, she can take a turn reading books with him, which is his current obsession. I love books, but there's a limit to how long you can maintain your enthusiasm for books with one word per page for.

And I've nearly finished a piece of work which I'm really proud of, which is a lovely feeling.

My DD (10 months) now sort of says her Brothers (DS4) name and will call for him to get his attention and she does this really massive smile and excited screech when he comes over and covers her with kisses and says he is her number 1 girl.

makes my heart melt when they are together

I have met the mothers of many, many babies and children with all kinds of health issues squedgie. Every single one of them finds a way to cope, and cope brilliantly. Although not many of them recognise just how well they do manage.
You will too. Flowers

I have woken up to a sunny day AND to discover that all that fake tan I put on last night has worked!

I am not orange, I do not smell and it appears to be streak free.

I have nowhere I need to be today. DS1 is having my car to go to school so no pressure to go out/spend money.

The house could do with a bit of tidying but that's about it. I may even get the cushions out for the patio set and sit in the garden for a bit doing absolutely nothing. Shock
