Ok so we have seven

House cat, house rabbit, canary, 2 gerbils and 2 fish.
Our house is more than big enough for them and their enclosures gives them plenty of space. First question, Aibu for having so many haha? And second how many do you have?
My name kinda says it all... Grin

We have 2 degus that we rescued and 2 russian dwarf hamsters. We also had 2 gerbils but they are running on the great gerbil wheel in the sky now.
Love rodents so that's what we are sticking with for now but we also love cats so maybe we will have one eventually.

Llanali · 21/05/2017 19:23

Four dogs, two horses plus a visiting horse, a few outdoor cats, some chickens and an adopted duck!

mayoli · 21/05/2017 19:24

Two cats aged 1yr and 9mo. Would get a dog but they're expensive and much more work.

DotForShort · 21/05/2017 19:25

Only one dog at the moment. I would love more dogs but our current pup really needs to be an only dog.

I'd also love a cat or two but my husband is allergic. Sad

When I was a child, my dream job was zookeeper. I would still absolutely love to be surrounded by animals (though no desire to work in a zoo any more). I often daydream about winning the lottery and moving to a farm, where I could have horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, etc.

Honkyzeke · 21/05/2017 19:28

15 Chickens

2 Dogs

Would love a couple of rats too!

Iloveanimals · 21/05/2017 19:37

We would have 2 rabbits e1y1, but the pet shop said that he had to be kept separated as he bit his last partners ear off Confused
Hence why he's in the living room with us so that he's not always on his own :)

ratspeaker what does 'a muckle amount' mean? I like that word. Muckle. Muckle.

woodvillain · 21/05/2017 19:42

A dog, one and a half horses and 8 hens. Son is angling for scorpion but has no chance if that ever coming into this house.
Muckle means a large amount round here

RedGrapeCornSnake · 21/05/2017 19:43

We have

1 rabbit (yes I know they aren't supposed to live alone, he's had 2 'wives' in his life - neither of whom lasted longer than a year - and who cost us too much in both cash and heartbreak, I'm not ready to do that again).

1 corn snake (best pet I've ever had)
1 crested gecko (fun to watch but easily stressed so we handle her infrequently)
3 rainbow millipedes (technically my sons)
10 ramshorn snails (brought in to help keep our frogspawn/tadpole tank clean - the froglets have since moved out and the snails now have a million children to care for)

fabulousfun · 21/05/2017 19:44

3 cats
1 fish
2 goats
17 hens
2 geese
1 pony

anotherpoisonprince · 21/05/2017 19:50

Atm 1 dog and 1 cat.
Both rescues.
I've lived with a myriad of animals over the years. My current two are my hearts delight.

LilaBard · 21/05/2017 19:53

3 smallish dogs - mini schnauzer, Lakeland terrier, and Jack Russell hound mix.
I grew up in the countryside and at one stage we had 7 dogs of varying hound "gun dog" varieties, 2 budgies, and a couple of stray/second home cats who came to visit. Feels weird to not have a dog.

I could very happily live on a farm (but yknow not do any of the work)

operaha · 21/05/2017 19:53

2 dogs. The perfect number I've longed for. 3 kids who are getting on a bit , 19, 17 and 11 so needed to fill that gap after one passed a couple of years ago. Ours are boy 20 months and girl 5 months.

honeyroar · 21/05/2017 19:53

Two horses.
Three dogs.
Two cats (outdoor).
Six hens (want more but the farm we rescue from is on lockdown due to bird flu).

All rescues apart from the horses. And yes we're skint, knackered and live in a bomb site, but it's worth it!

NobodyKnowsTiddlyPom · 21/05/2017 19:54

I have 11 pets at present: sheep, chickens, cat, stick insects.

I'd love a dog but there's noone at home at the moment during the day so feel it wouldn't be fair.

We'll also be getting a couple of ponies in the not-too-distant future but doubt I'll have time to have my own horse!

LilaBard · 21/05/2017 19:54

Also had a very grumpy Shetland pony who did not tolerate any contact bar feeding

deadringer · 21/05/2017 19:54

We just have a dog now but we used to have a cat, tropical fish and hamsters as well. I am sick of pets to be honest, the dog is getting old and when he goes that will be it i think.

alwaysme22 · 21/05/2017 19:56

1 Alpaca
10 sheep
7 chickens
10 ducks
7 tortoises
4 parrots
1 marine tank
1 fresh water tropical tank
2 cats
2 dogs
2 chameleons

MaudesMum · 21/05/2017 19:58

One cat. Would like more cats, but current cat very very anti-social. Thinking about a dog, but worrying about the commitment (and the cost).

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/05/2017 20:00

3 guinea-pigs (we had 5 until early this year when we lost the two older girls.)

We have a rough-as-heck garden, I need a goat to prance about tidying the edges. (The guineas are strictly confined to runs for their own safety - bloody foxes Hmm )

ForalltheSaints · 21/05/2017 20:02

None. We are out or away too often to give the care and love a dog or cat should have.

DonttouchthatLarry · 21/05/2017 20:59

3 dogs, 1 horse and 1 cat.

DHorse is 20, DCat is 17 and once they're gone we're sticking to just dogs.
