Big lips

There seems to be so many (beautiful) ladies walking about with pumped up lips. Obviously pumped and filled and they just don't look natural; like their top lip doesn't fit/work in the way a top lip should.

I am not body/face confident AT ALL but I don't understand this. I wish everyone could see their own beauty. I wish I could invent a mirror where it's impossible for us and our children to 'see' our 'flaws' (that we beat ourselves up about but no-one else sees).

Has anyone had these fillers? Are you please with the result? Is it permanent?

I meant the 'lip job' where the top lip now starts to jut out immediately under the nose and the sides sort of flatten out. The really obvious job. I guess I just can't understand why you would want/have something so obvious- if you're insecure about something, why draw attention to it? But then maybe it's a way to hide behind something (metaphorically). Or maybe it's just fashion and the more fake the better?

Yes, as long as we are happy, that's all that matters. Many wear makeup/fake nails/lashes/dye hair etc etc- each to their own- but I was sat in the doctor's waiting room opposite an example and I just wondered, 'why?'

And who better to answer that question than the MNMix?!

Wherever I go in London, I am surrounded by huge pumped up lips, & huge rounded arses in leggings, combined with unnaturally white teeth & dark caterpillar eyebrows.

The vile 'slagarseian' sisters have a lot to answer for.

My daughter has had hers done twice, she's a beautician and thinks it's necessary for the job! What a load of bollocks! She's only 29 and keeps trying to get me to like them, that'll never happen. Her brothers asked her if she had a face to go with the lips lol.
She didn't find it funny Confused

Won't Gilbert be jealous AnnelovesGilbert ? Grin

I quite like how my mouth looks when it is in repose. But when I smile it splits my face open like a dropped melon! And my big blue eyes go all piggy.

I had an acquaintance who would always bang on about how men loved her lips cos they were all soft and squishy, she got everyone (we were in a bar, 7 of us or so) to put on lipstick and kiss a hanky to compare squishyness. They all obliged Hmm sheep. When my turn came round i opened my mouth and made the biggest O possible. I'll never forget her deflated face when attention was taken away from her. I couldnt give 2 shits how squishy her lips were - just that she was an attention seeking idiot (eg singing happy birthday on a train v loudly in 8 different languages. Exgausting girl.).

I've just googled and there are some lovely 'enhancements'. So I'm guessing the huge 'pulled up' top lip is either a bad job OR a fashion choice.

I have one friend who has Botox and I can only tell because I knew her before. She's a good example- I bumped into another woman I hadn't seen for a while and her forehead was so big and smooth and shiny- I didn't know where to look. And it just made her eyes/rest of her face look older.

If I feel like I want some work in the future- I'll defo be doing my homework!

Huge lips here aswell. Used to dislike it, but now given up caring.

KungFuPandaWorksOut16 · 17/05/2017 11:54

Some look really painful with how big they are. The bigger the better is in style where I am.

JaneJeffer · 17/05/2017 11:56

Remember when Ivy Tilsley got sacked from Corrie for getting her lips done? She would be all the rage now Grin

Maudlinmaud · 17/05/2017 12:14

Jane I don't recall that but I remember Granny Ivys ghost at the window. Wooooo!

Maudlinmaud · 17/05/2017 12:14

Please for the love of God tell me that's photoshop.

HildaOg · 17/05/2017 13:05

They make themselves look so old and weird. I notice a lot of women ruining their faces with cosmetic procedures, add to that excess makeup and tangoed skin (why, just why?)... I'm happy for other women to knock themselves out of the competition but I'd never do it to myself.

peachgreen · 17/05/2017 13:26

@Cricket Without being creepy, your lips are gorgeous! I love that classic smaller mouth, fuller bottom lip look. Like Clara Bow or Lillian Gish. Beautiful.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 17/05/2017 13:32

Pinkie, she looks like she's been snogging daffy duck.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 17/05/2017 13:33

fluentinsarcasm · 17/05/2017 17:06

I thought Nicole Kidman looked beautiful on Big Little Lies.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 17/05/2017 17:33

peach

Aw, thanks. Blush Don't worry, you don't sound creepy :) Just dared to go back to this thread. (how are people confident enough to post these things on social media?)
If I compare baby/toddler pics DD looks actually exactly like me (just a bit paler/lighter hair). So I'm trying to like my own face (which strangely enough involves wearing more makeup -> daring to wear lipstick... Grin )

CricketRuntAndRashers · 17/05/2017 17:35

Not that I'm trying to imply DD doesn't look perfect imo. Of course she does.

But if we look very alike (and that may happen) it would be very weird if I tried to peach self-love and confidence but didn't practitce the same. that's what I mean. oops Blush

And yes, please tell me these huuuge lips aren't real! :=0

peachgreen · 17/05/2017 18:39

Cricket I just started wearing lipstick after years of resistance too! It is VERY fun.
