AIBU?

Favourite forgotten threads

Inspired by a few cracking zombie threads that have popped up over the last few days I was wondering what peoples favourite forgotten threads are?
I remember one about 8 years ago from a woman who had a ONS and the guy hadn't been particularly vigilant in washing his arse which was hilarious (the thread - not the dirty arse obviously).
Would be great to link to some funny ones and also see if the posters are still on here and can update though perhaps not the one I mentioned

OP posts:

I was just thinking about the playgroup one today! How weird. My favourite is the poster who accidentally called her DS a 'tiny wanker' in the drs waiting room. I was bf dd at about three in the morning and I was helpless, I'm sure I woke DH up to read it.

The Balonz thread in baby names. Total wind up of course, but it was so gentle and daft that it was allowed to stay. I particularly liked the OP apologising for the po-faced poster who signed up just to tell mumsnetters that they'd been had -as if they were totally unaware.

i followed the thread by Solost --her DH left for OW.
She had such dignity and restraint. She played a blinder.
Her follow up thread was a tonic to read.

Obviously name changed since then but if you are about Solost- l hope all is well

Your Minge is a particular favourite, as are Cutted-up Pear (if your toddler had AIBU) and Brian offering Yoni massage.

I am also a huge fan of posters like HoneyDragon who have had some epically hilarious and embarrassing misadventures, and have then had the generosity to come here and tell us about them - one MNer ran topless into her lounge (it was a running joke that her dh kept doing this), only to find that the man who was going to fit the boiler was in there talking to her dh. Another tried to bleach her bum hole with toothpaste, but chose the wrong toothpaste, and turned it blue instead.

@KC225 if you scroll down the thread called 'have you ever encountered anyone so cheeky' on mumsnet classics to WeAreEternal's post on 20/4/13

The penguin date one after some bloje told a munsnetter they were exclusive when he certainly was not. It had mumsnetters reporting back on the date/stand up from Birdland.
Oh i would soooo love to read that again. Absolutely hilarious!

I'm sure Penguin Date is in Classics?

I loved fashionistas in a taxi queue.

I can't remember how many years ago it was now.

Someone was horrified that families didn't get put to the front of taxi queues and there were some fashionistas at the front.

It was hilarious and ended up with a points system for taxi queues.

I don't think the op was impressed though.

I'd forgotten the OXO tower thread!

Report
SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/05/2017 19:10

Oops - posted too soon.

OXO tower was a wonderful mix of serious tourist info and advice, and seriously smutty MN brilliance, riffing on the OP saying her dh was planning to take her up the OXO tower, for her birthday! Grin

Spin off thread based on 'sordid affair' troll thread. Was absolutely brilliant. Anyone else remember? The username 'lovelyfriend' reminds me of this one too.

Oh that spoof 'lovely friend' thread was one of the funniest I've ever read on here.

I love EKL, it was one of the first threads I read in Classics. On a previous thread like this someone posted a link to a thread which had me crying with laughter (maybe I was just in a slightly odd mood!). OP was asking for reviews of a particular pushchair or pram. Next post is from someone who says they bought one and how great it was etc... poster 3 pointed out that poster 2 had replied to her own post 5 years later.

I don't think I'm conveying the humour very well, oh dear!

"Your minge" is in classics but the OP had all her posts deleted so it's not readable now. But imo it was the best thread ever.

For those that haven't seen it - heavily pregnant OP went to swimming pool with her DP and child. Child and DP got in the water and baby brain struck and OP stood at the side of the pool and removed her bikini bottoms, and folded them onto a chair. Without thinking. Didn't realise til her husband turned in the pool and saw her and mouthed "Your minge" 😵😂

RustyPaperclip · 17/05/2017 20:37

I thought there was a thread where someone copied and pasted the minge post? I may be wrong though

I also like the post in classics about the DH who ate a fat ball

Echoing someone on the post linked above about the OP who lied about the Chip and Dale toys, I am ashamed to say that I too have just found out that a Pine Marten is not a bird Blush This thread is proving to be most informative Grin
