I know. I know, it was stupid. But even if I wanted to make a go of it (I don't) I can't - I don't know enough people.

I am confused though as I didn't think I needed to do anything. Do I actually have to sell it on or get sanctioned?

They'll have a minimum amount of money to qualify as a 'party'. It was £150 when I did it.

Ah! That makes sense. Is that why I'm suddenly being invited to 'no pressure' Tropic 'pamper parties' every weekends? Does anyone know what the minimum spend for a Tropic party is?

I guess some people just have to be on the know, I don't know why it matters though. But anyway thanks. The main thing is there's no pressure to sell, it's just everyone else seems to take it so seriously I thought I must be doing something wrong!

I think the difference is NY is more like being a body shop home rep, with less pressure on you to build a downline etc which is how the real MLMs make their money. Isn't NY just about leaving booklets at work, the odd party etc?

It is an MLM, but one of the 'better' ones.

An MLM is a business model that has been exploited by some companies.

Some MLMs give them all a bad name, if you go into any of them with your eyes open and realistic expectations it's fine.

OP I checked and you do have the 14 day cooling off period if you do decide against it. The team groups I'm in do go on about parties, recruiting, sparkles etc etc. But I just ignore it mostly and do my own thing. On the plus side there's no working holidays to Marbella, or BMW bought for supposedly 2 hours work!

I was targeted by an MLM lady for the first time, at a nail bar last w/e Smile. Had a pleasant chat with her but panicked when she mentioned trying out some 'skin care products.' She left me a leaflet, saying I could call her if I liked. Forever Living - I think, but I binned it. She didn't try to get my details TBF. I think you are either confident doing things like that (approaching strangers) or you aren't....
