I know. I know, it was stupid. But even if I wanted to make a go of it (I don't) I can't - I don't know enough people.

I am confused though as I didn't think I needed to do anything. Do I actually have to sell it on or get sanctioned?

In my experience you are 'locked in' to having three parties, due to buying the stock at reduced prices.

No idea if this is actually enforceable or not. Oh, and they will hassle you until you've booked them.

Your one might work differently though.

strawberryshower · 16/05/2017 17:47

This is what worries me. I don't know enough people to have a party with! And if I did I wouldn't be making them buy my stuff!

Does the 14 day cooling-off period apply to MLMs?

OVienna · 16/05/2017 17:47

How would they monitor turnout? Is there any particular reason you couldn't get the same mates to turn up all the time? How would they police a barbeque with friends and family that got described as a party?

I know it sounds like I'm suggesting leave your ethics aside but I am just curious at how enforceable their rules are...

strawberryshower · 16/05/2017 17:48

No, I wonder this as well. Very silly to have signed up. I just thought I'd have lots of pretty things without spending much Blush

If you go off radar and flog the stuff on ebay would they be any the wiser?

GreenHairDontCare · 16/05/2017 18:01

They'll have a minimum amount of money to qualify as a 'party'. It was £150 when I did it.

I did it for about six months and towards the end I was buying stuff myself to make the parties valid so I could get the bonus stock. Overall I don't think I made any money at all.

I have to say though, I did have fun, and met some nice people. And filled my kitchen with stuff Grin This was Pampered Chef and they don't exist anymore.

GreenHairDontCare · 16/05/2017 18:02

Pretty sure there should be a cooling off period though. Speak to the person who recruited you.

Loupee · 16/05/2017 18:14

NY is fine!

To keep your account active you have to spend £100 a year, if you don't your account isn't active, that's it.

I do it, but only because I use the products and if I wait until sale time then I save loads.

I haven't placed an order since Christmas and no body cares.

Your upline should be able answer any concerns.

dementedpixie · 16/05/2017 18:44

Never heard of NY

strawberryshower · 16/05/2017 19:07

Thanks. Everyone seems very into it and I was worried!

Loupee · 16/05/2017 20:01

Yeah, I just didn't say it because the op didn't want to.

weeblueberry · 16/05/2017 20:03

If it is Neals Yard it's definitely the lesser of the evils!! In fact the stuff is genuinely really good and you might have a go of making money as long as you don't push things too hard...

PovertyJetset · 16/05/2017 20:04

Neals yard is a MLM scheme?!? Well I never!!!

GreenHairDontCare · 16/05/2017 20:05

I wouldn't have classed Neals Yard as an MLM really, isn't it a bit like Usborne and The Body Shop? Just home selling with no pressure to recruit?

Dodie66 · 16/05/2017 20:11

I tried loads of different ones. Neways, Amway, Transfer Factor, Herbalife and a few others. It's was a struggle to sell the items and get other people to join in my down lines because of the cost of the products. They are usually all expensive. I never made much money. You do need people to join under you to make money
