Neighbour constantly walking through my front garden.

I am not sure if my dh was being unreasonable for shouting at him this morning so here it goes. Not 100% sure if it is my neighbours eldest son or there daughters boy friend. He sleeps there most nights but doesn't appear to have house keys, I know this because he sits in his car at the bottom of my drive waiting to be let in. So he went through a stage of what ever side of the drive I parked in he would park directly behind me across the bottom of the drive blocking me in. This made it difficult to get off the drive as I was blocked in and had to kind of edge backwards and forwards to move the car to the otherside of the drive to reserve off it safely. We have a dropped kerb that runs the whole width of the drive but this didn't seem to bother him. I started reversing on to make it easier to pull off and out of the blue he stopped doing it. He has now moved on walking through our front garden to get to and from this car. So he comes out of their house steps over a small wall and walks right over my front door step and behind my car. He will push my kitchen windows in if they are open wide so he can fit behind the car easier then trotts off down the drive. On occasion if we have been leaving at the same time he has bumped into my dc or I have had to step back to stop him walking into me, I have asked him to stop but he doesn't. So this morning when dh was leaving for work he did it again and dh lost his temper and shouted at him and swore a bit, was dh in the wrong for this and how would you deal with the situation?

Still waiting for his return. My parents are picking dc up from school today so I won't miss a thing. My dad thinks he is prick and to be honest I am secretly hoping he catches him in the act this afternoon as he is retired from the forces so can be some what rather authoritative at times.

I wonder if his girl friend or her mum are on MN ?

Goingtobeawesome · 16/05/2017 15:08

Delivery people constantly walk over our garden to or from next door. It really bugs me. I feel petty for being bothered. OP, this is ridiculous and he has to be made to stop.

ItsNachoCheese · 16/05/2017 15:10

Waving pom poms in honour of forces dad hope he gets to do his thing Grin

BillyButtfuck · 16/05/2017 15:10

bloodyuselessme · 16/05/2017 15:11

I can't believe I'm so excited for this! Hope your dad catches him

justkeepswimmingg · 16/05/2017 15:12

Oh, how exciting is this thread.
I don't know how you and DH have put up with this behaviour for so long!? I'm only 23 weeks pregnant, and I'd have snapped his legs by now. For sure if he continues to do it today then you need to speak to the neighbours. If that doesn't help then get the jet washer ready to squirt him, whenever he's trespassing on your property!

Fragglez · 16/05/2017 15:14

If the Mum is on MN and he behaves anything like this in her house, she's probably stuck to the window watching for him and rubbing her hands with glee!

BoredOnMatLeave · 16/05/2017 15:14

Shamelessly placemarking...

Freddystarshamster · 16/05/2017 15:16

It is causing op distress thats all it needs to be to be harassment

No it really doesn't. Just think about it for a moment and how that would be a completely ridiculous idea in law. That's why they have the "reasonable person" test. You're posting on mumsnet so have full access to the internet. Check for yourself

The drama is over whoooo! The lad approached the house by his usually route to find plant pot number 1 followed by plant pot number 2 and my car. He called me a petty bitch through the kitchen window. This is when it gets interested dad goes marching out and asks the lad what duck is he doing, he replied that I had blocked his path. Dad explained it was private land therefore I was not blocking his path etc. The lad had the cheek to say he didn't see it as an issue so dad listed all the issues including assaulting dd and that he did want to have to involve the police. The lad agreed not to go that way again then this is the best bit, he went to carry on behind my car and over the wall. Dad stopped him with a what do you think you are doing young man we have just discussed your actionsnow that start as we mean yo go on. Then made him go down our path on the pavement and up their path. So for long sentences wanted to get it all written down quickly.

Maybe next time the hot coffee gets split all over the lad instead of you dh, obviously by accident but might make him think twice

Missb00 · 16/05/2017 15:17

I've just read this whole thread, I think you and DH have been really patient tbh, I would have been out there shaking my broomstick at him after the first time!

Come on WeirdBoy!
