Good.

That is all.

Hope he suffered the scumbag!

Charmageddon · 16/05/2017 00:19

Good.

I too hope that there is something in his possessions that leads to answers for the poor families he's ruined.

Every time I've ever heard their names (him and Hindley) I get a cold, angry feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I'm glad they've both left this earth now, finally.

MakeLemonade · 16/05/2017 00:22

Hell is too good for some people.

sweetkitty · 16/05/2017 00:26

Thoughts are with those poor poor families loosing their children in a horrific way and never even having a body to mourn Flowers

Allllllalone · 16/05/2017 00:42

Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Keith Bennett, Lesley Ann Downey and Edward EvansFlowers RipHalo

Makes me feel very sad the fact Keith Bennetts mum never found out where he was :(

Allllllalone · 16/05/2017 00:45

"They made recordings of their victims dying, calling out for their mothers. And you're criticising people for wishing him a painful death. Ffs."

I never knew they did this, absolutely disgusting and so so heartbreaking to those poor kids! :(

CaveMum · 16/05/2017 00:46

Brady actually wrote a book over 15 years ago. It was published in the USA but it was banned by the High Court over here.

CaveMum · 16/05/2017 00:48

Forgot to add that the article I linked to confirms there is an autobiography that is being held by a publisher until after his death. I'm guessing it will be up to the courts if it is allowed to be released.

AvaCrowder2 · 16/05/2017 00:50

Those poor children, and their families.
Flowers

TeslasDeathRay · 16/05/2017 01:19

Good. I hope he's getting what he deserves in hell.

Fuck taking the moral highground. Saying that people shouldn't be wishing suffering on somebody or delighting in their death just ends up minimising what happened to his victims and throws sympathy his way.
Death does not absolve you of anything.

OkPedro · 16/05/2017 01:47

Myra hindley is dead

DarkDarkNight · 16/05/2017 01:49

My thoughts go to his victims and their families.

Every time I saw Keith Bennet's mum on tv or in the paper I hoped she would live long enough to see his body found. I still hope he is found one day.

Topseyt · 16/05/2017 02:12

He won't be missed. Evil piece of shit.

ilovesprouts · 16/05/2017 02:44

good riddance i say Grin

sashh · 16/05/2017 07:31

I do hope they find something within his personal effects which will lead the police to little Keith Bennett.

I think if he has left any clues it will be a false lead, he was a sick bastard who would get his rocks off thinking about people chasing around after his death.

I believe when he went on the moor with the police in the late 1980s he was checking the site and had no intention of telling the police where Keith is buried.

Tanith · 16/05/2017 07:33

"They made recordings of their victims dying, calling out for their mothers. And you're criticising people for wishing him a painful death. Ffs."

The tape of Lesley Anne Downey was played to the court at their trial.
It moved many in court to tears, but not those two. They sat sucking peppermints and Brady's only comment was that the recording was "unusual".

Lesley Anne Downey's mother had to listen to her little girl on the tape in order to identify her voice, though she didn't have to listen to the entire recording. It haunted her for the rest of her life.

UrsulaPandress · 16/05/2017 07:57

My dad knew a policeman who was in court. He walked out of court and his job after hearing that tape.

Farahilda · 16/05/2017 08:26

I realise both that this death is newsworthy, and that the background may need to be explained as part of that news story.

But i really don't like the front pages of the newspapers today.

I think I'd have preferred less banner?

Is there a greater focus on the victims and their families on the inside pages?

BeyondStrongAndStable · 16/05/2017 08:29

I wondered that, ceto. You can't libel a dead person, nor is saying he was bad a debatable issue!!

AuntieStella · 16/05/2017 08:30

Ursula there was a carol playing in the background to that tape. I won't name which one, so that those who don't know which one don't have it tainted. And that detail is one that really revolted people (as only a couple of sample sentences from the transcript have ever been released, and I hope it stays that way)

LagunaBubbles · 16/05/2017 08:37

But I try to retain my humanity. I never want to become someone who hopes another human died painfully or was tortured. That's what makes us different to those who murder and torture. That's what makes us better than them

No what makes me better than people like Brady is the fact I dont torture and kill children.

Batfurger · 16/05/2017 08:38

Some of the double standards exhibited by mumsnetters are quite remarkable.

We should let his death go uncelebrated and minimally reported. What we shouldn't do is think that human rights can be suspended for some people. As pp said, that's what separates us.

He was mentally ill, as are many people who live normal lives. Where do we draw the line?

Quite disgusted by some of the comments here and that doesn't make me a sympathiser, it makes me humane.

Also significant amounts of misinformation on here which is somewhat dailymailesque.

SoupDragon · 16/05/2017 09:04

I've been thinking about this thread and I do find the out pouring of hatred odd in its intensity. Especially since I'm sure most people aren't connected to the murders. This all happened before I was born.

He was a nasty evil man who is now dead. I feel nothing.

SoupDragon · 16/05/2017 09:08

He was mentally ill,

Yes, this went through my mind too. It is, of course, not an excuse but a reason.

I do not really believe in the concept of evil (although I described him as such in my previous post). I believe that most "evilness" is down to severe mental health issues far beyond what is normal.

Quite disgusted by some of the comments here and that doesn't make me a sympathiser, it makes me humane.

Yes. Absolutely. Whoever accused a previous poster of being a sympathiser should be ashamed of themselves.

joystir59 · 16/05/2017 09:15

Let the ground swallow him up forpotten. Let us celebrate Keith Bennett's young life without mentioning the name of his killer. Let us separate Keith Bennett from he who shall be forgotten dust. Keith was a young vibrant laughing boy. A boy full of energy and love and innocence. Let us remember and celebrate him and free his memory from all taint. Bless Keith Bennett x
