Good.

That is all.

I think his brain should be removed an examined, to see just what went wrong.

There was a chap on the radio this morning (a reporter, I think) who had had conversations with Brady. He said that the closest he'd come to remorse was saying that he'd had to block the memory.

ohfourfoxache · 16/05/2017 22:53

Perhaps if they keep his brain then, one day, the technology might exist that would provide the answers he so evilly denied to so many

Ceto · 16/05/2017 23:47

Answering questions in an interview truthfully is not showing disrespect to victims' families.

Blaaaaaaaah · 17/05/2017 00:03

I think the issue with Brady's solicitors is that he does appear to have chosen somewhat dodgy characters who could be easily manipulated and enjoyed the notoriety of association with him. One of his previous solicitors is serving time in jail for fraud. There was much criticism of the conduct of his legal team at the recent tribunal facilitating him to grandstand and irrelevantly ramble. I expect his most recent one will be writing a book and making a lot of money doing the rounds of interviews.

anyone who is interested in the search for Keith please visit www.searchingforkeith.com the site is run by Alan, Keith's brother and I know the family is very grateful when people stop by and post that they remember Keith.
Unfortunately the info on the forums is not as detailed as it was as the software has changed and older posts are not there but Alan regularly updates the site with news.
There is a lot of unhelpful misinformation repeated in the media like no one knows where Keith is likely to be, or that the landscape has moved or even that there may be no body to find.
This is not true and is upsetting for those involved. I hope that Brady's death will lead to sufficient interest to enable a new search and give the family full acces to the police files.

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 17/05/2017 01:19

Thank you Grim I took a look and my heart broke even more. Poor little love. Those poor children and their families.

ohfourfoxache · 17/05/2017 02:21

Grim thank you for the link Thanks

Those poor, poor families Sad

sashh · 17/05/2017 04:46

He was mentally ill, as are many people who live normal lives. Where do we draw the line?

By the way people behave. The vast majority of psychopaths do not commit crime, they may not have the emotional connection that most people have but they live within society's norms.

SophisticatedSkivvy · 17/05/2017 07:56

Here we go. Daily Mail serialising his autobiography, released by his 'solicitor' who it seems will also take all the proceeds, from today.

Vile, vile society we live in.

UrsulaPandress · 17/05/2017 08:13

I was horrified when I saw that. Utter bastards.

AuntieStella · 17/05/2017 08:22

I can see why his writings would be of interest to psychiatrists, psychologists and some sociologists (and possibly a few other -ists in related disciplines)

And am quite saddened that it's expected to have mass media appeal. Because they'll only be considering publishing it if they believe peooe, will want to read it.

RedHelenB · 17/05/2017 08:54

Doesn't this come under proceeds of crime?

LagunaBubbles · 17/05/2017 09:32

what makes me better than people like Brady is the fact I don't torture and kill children

I'd have thought the minimum standards of a modern society should be higher than that

Whats your point? I am better than Ian Brady which was my point to the posts that have the smug air of being a better person because they dont wish ill on someone "thats what makes us better" type thing.

CheeseQueen · 17/05/2017 09:38

Cremate him and flush his ashes down the toilet, no need for any rememberance of him, no service, just dispose of him quickly and quietly.

Absolutely this. Or chuck out with the garbage. I saw a headline today that it wants to be buried on the Moors.
No WAY should that be honoured - not only did it reject any wishes of the victims and their families, it would be the utmost final insult to have him buried the same place as those poor children. Utterly, utterly sick if that happened.

Farahilda · 17/05/2017 09:40

I don't think it comes under the benefits of crime as he is dead so cannot benefit.

And it's the benefits of your own crime only (or we couldn't have people making any money from books of films about any real life crimes whilst the murdererl was still alive - eg the Train robbers)

LurkingHusband · 17/05/2017 09:44

Daily Mail serialising his autobiography

Well, they did support Hitler too ...

RedHelenB · 17/05/2017 11:05

Can't believe anyone would want to read his autobiography but we live in a weird world.
Hopefully now he's dead the constant pieces about him won't be published in the papers. No need to have put about scattering his ashes on the moors imo either.

Collidascope · 17/05/2017 11:25

It's weird that he was apparently a nihilist with no religious beliefs and yet wants his ashes scattered on the moors. I couldn't give a shit what happens to my body for my own sake once I'm dead. I'm betting he's only asked for them to be scattered there to continue causing outrage and distress to his victims.

Collidascope · 17/05/2017 11:26

By victims, I mean the children's families.

Maudlinmaud · 17/05/2017 12:37

Oh absolutely it's one last fuck you to the families he has tormented for years Collidascope He has never displayed one ounce of remorse for his heinous crimes. That's why I believe humanity doesn't apply to him. He wanted notoriety nothing more nothing less. He should be scrubbed from history and his victims remembered. God rest them.

Terfing · 17/05/2017 13:58

It will be on shelves during the Christmas period then? What a brilliant secret santa gift! Hmm

Butterymuffin · 17/05/2017 15:08

If I see it on sale I'm going to move it out of sight. Any self respecting retailer would decline to sell it.

LurkingHusband · 17/05/2017 15:12

It will be on shelves during the Christmas period then?

Quite apart from the starting subject matter, I would hope that even the most depraved, ignorant retailer would know why that is especially repugnant.

If I see it on sale I'm going to move it out of sight. Any self respecting retailer would decline to sell it.

Depends on the profit potential Sad.

Butterymuffin · 17/05/2017 15:15

Lurking True, but there's good PR to be gained too by taking a stand and not being associated with it. Look at McDonalds and their bad publicity in the last few days.

LurkingHusband · 17/05/2017 15:17

Look at McDonalds and their bad publicity in the last few days.

Look at their sales first .....
