AIBU to think that there are a huge amount of paid political posters on this forum?

50p army indeed? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/50_Cent_Party

It's obvious, but remember to check the parties manifestos and make sure you are voting for the policies you agree with, and not just being influenced by the opinions of others and the politics of inevitability.

Mmmm I think it's very much like complaints to the BBC.

Both wings accuse the cooperation of bias and both sides here have accused both Tory central office and momentum of having paid posters.

Think that basically shows that mumsnetters have different political opinions and that's reflected in our society.

The conspiracy theories will run and run and in my opinion are bollocks really.

Glad mumsnet had stopped this 50p silly crap too. Totally spoils debate and is so childish

Orlantina · 17/05/2017 11:38

It's definitely a tricky area when it comes to social media

Look at Facebook and advertising. A lot of demographic knowledge and targeted FB advertising based on Cambridge analytics.

Completely agree. Totally unnecessary.

NoLotteryWinYet · 17/05/2017 12:13

yes, if I could be paid for waffling on mumsnet, I'd have no need to play the lottery :) Plus, you've got to wonder given the polls whether the Conservatives will be that stressed about the debate on mumsnet - it's a sign of the times that there even is a debate on mumsnet given that it's usually a haven for lefties.

If anyone is missing Isitmebut's regurgitation of heavily underlined and bolded political rants, he's decamped to the Netmums News and Current Affairs forum and is calling himself "Steph" Grin

I occasionally pop over for nostalgia's sake...

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 17/05/2017 12:26

Waves to piglet Grin

NoLottery completely agree when I joined mumsnet around 10 years ago a Tory supporter was like a four leaf clover and any dissent was completely jumped on.

I am an old labour supporter, although not presently sadly, but feel it's a far more interesting and entertaining site now with more diversity and opinions.

Randomposter · 17/05/2017 12:35

I very much doubt there's a 'huge' number on here, so YABU. There's not enough interest in politics on mumsnet plus the members aren't diverse enough. Hardly any men, very few under 25's or over 60's.

It can save a lot of trouble if you don't discuss religions, politics or money with anyone - very safe policy, then you upset no one

Not even with your own family? I'd be bored to tears. Religion, politics, psychology and sociology are staples in this household.

My politics are very different to my families. I can't change their view and vice versa. So we don't talk about it.

People on here can still vote and be influenced, can't they?

MN is a massive forum and it's one of the best for discussions out there.

I bet there's people on StudentRoom as well.
