Bloody sick of it.

Come on HQ. Why not lock them, after a certain period, as suggested countless times before.

It's so annoying! Grrrr

I've quite enjoyed the revival of the grey hair is horrid one, it has given me an opportunity to post the unpopular views I never got round to posting before. One I started a couple of years ago "Toni and Guy are not very good hairdressers" ( to paraphrase) keeps getting revitalised by yet more people who see this as an eternal truth. It is a good thing, to have another chance to post, or be amused by what you posted before!

Blodplod · 15/05/2017 16:21

I thought they did have a message saying they were old or hadn't been posted on since X date?

I very nearly replied to an old thread from 2013 regards range cookers - i even excitedly went downstairs and took a pic on my phone to post to the thread, the thread had been bumped and was in active threads - luckily out of the corner of my eye I saw a message saying the thread hadn't been posted to since 2013 - it thankfully (how embarrassing would that have been?) stopped me from posting on it..

pigsDOfly · 15/05/2017 16:28

Well, if newbies are the type to be upset by the ZOMBIE alert message I suggest their constitutions are too delicate for MN.

It's bloody annoying to read through a thread only to suddenly realise it's years old.

Back to checking the dates of every thread again before reading.

Peanutbutterrules · 15/05/2017 16:33

Yes it is annoying. I liked the warning - I could sigh heavily and move on.

Between the trolls and the zombie threads it's getting F* irritating.

chocolateworshipper · 15/05/2017 16:36

Maybe it's some kind of cyber attack

or maybe it's just a full moon

WomblingThree · 15/05/2017 16:38

I agree with everyone that it's totally annoying, but as MNHQ don't seem in a hurry to sort it, it's not that difficult to just look at the date of the first post.

BillyButtfuck · 15/05/2017 16:38

Upsetting newbies? Well this is upsetting a lot of long standing posters.

TheRightHonourableLady · 15/05/2017 16:39

Things like this will forever remind me of Hackergate..

NotYoda · 15/05/2017 16:42

Why are there still so many user numbernumbernumber etc etc usernames?

It's impossible to keep track of who is who, on one thread let alone across threads. It tars the real ones with the troll brush

Andylion · 15/05/2017 16:43

Why would the zombie thread message upset newbies? It's not directed at just them, but at anyone who tries to post on a zombie thread.

I agree with pigsDOfly: if newbies are the type to be upset by the ZOMBIE alert message I suggest their constitutions are too delicate for MN.

NotYoda · 15/05/2017 16:45

I think I was nicer years ago Sad

Styturnip · 15/05/2017 16:54

I was definitely not nicer back then but having my arse handed back on a plate a few times made me a better person Grin

Sparklingbrook · 15/05/2017 17:41

We were all probably nicer when we weren't awash with trolls.

Wolfiefan · 15/05/2017 17:43

Nah Sparkling. I've never been nice. I do think I've turned a bit more bitch in recent years though. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 15/05/2017 17:44

Ah ok Wolfie. Grin

NotYoda · 15/05/2017 17:45

Sparkling

Yes. I think that's part of it. I am just suspicious of everyone

There's also Menopause though...

Sparklingbrook · 15/05/2017 17:47

I just spend most of my time on MN either like this Hmm or like this Confused or both together. But mainly Hmm

Wolfiefan · 15/05/2017 17:47

Sparkling you forgot the head tilt! Grin

Toooldtobearsed · 15/05/2017 17:48

Oh bugger.

Just posted on the grey hair thread. I HATE Zombie threads. Why can the colour of text net be changed or something? Something that is obvious throughout the thread.

Feel like a right numpty now.

Sparklingbrook · 15/05/2017 17:50

We need a head tilit emoji-I do sometimes look like this

Wolfiefan · 15/05/2017 17:54

Looks like a beautiful Burmese Sparkling. I look more wrinkled WTF when I head tilt. Nowhere near so glamorous! Envy

Toooldtobearsed · 15/05/2017 17:59

More like this wolfie?

Tazerface · 15/05/2017 18:14

A lot of forums prefer searching and bumping an old thread so i don't think it's that ridiculous to think that people would do it.

I do think it's ridiculous that MNHQ won't leave the zombie thing on the posting box - or better yet, have it at the beginning so you don't read close to 1000 posts before realising only the last three are less than four years old Hmm

Wolfiefan · 15/05/2017 18:24

No Tooold. Still too pretty. Think more like a bulldog amount of wrinkles. Tilt head, wrinkle faced WTF with a side order of resting bitch face.
My I'm a catch! Grin

CheeseQueen · 15/05/2017 18:26

Meh. I don't get the whole angst over so called zombie threads. So what if they are old posts?
