Another thread derailed by troll hunters.......

user94567433 · 15/05/2017 09:42

Anyone else sick of threads being derailed by troll hunters?

There is a thread which seems to be genuine, MN have certainly left it up there, but the messages of support are drowned-out by people discussing trolls.

Does anyone else not give a damn what troll hunters believe or don't believe? Can't they just spend their oh-so-important time on whatever they want and leave the rest of us to get on with a thread?

They could become moderators if they like policing things.

It used to be _chat but even that's got fighty recently. Sigh.

That said it all kicked off in property the other day over some imagined perceived slight about flooring Hmm Grin Grin

I think TwattingAbout was suggested in the olden days. Gawd knows what a board called that would attract now.

WellErrr · 15/05/2017 13:10

How can OP be fed up of anything here yet? Given their username they've only been here 5 minutes.

WellErrr · 15/05/2017 13:12

A thread like greeny's 'husband eating cakes from the bin' would never happen these days.

Flipping trolls.

But yes, ignore them. Troll Hunter Hunting seems to be the new big thing.

I think we've lost the subtlety. Once upon a time you would only have to post "wow, that's literally unbelievable" and it would get the message across while waiting for MNHQ to creak leap into action.

Remember Greeny's garlic up the bum thread? Grin

hamster falling in the stew and Hully's wedding where elderly people weren't allowed to go

i vote for mumsnet lite too - didn't we have a thread recently?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 15/05/2017 13:17

But no fucking "light-hearted" allowed.

If you need it spelling out you're too stupid to be interwebbing on your own.

BeyondStrongAndStable · 15/05/2017 13:17

Troll-hunter-hunting should be treated like troll-hunting and posts should be deleted and users shunned like lepers.

:)

Ginslinger · 15/05/2017 13:19

lighthearted is an outright lifetime ban

I wish all the usernames would bog off now tbh

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 15/05/2017 13:34

I find it quite helpful though Liney. Saves getting the shit list out to see who's a twat and/or too lazy to think up a name.

It doesn't even have to be a good name as demonstrated by me so many posters.

LineysRun · 15/05/2017 13:36

Well there is that :)

LaLegue · 15/05/2017 13:55

I've been here a long time and I've never known as many troll threads as there have been in the last couple of weeks. It's getting completely ridiculous. My Threads I'm On list can have five or six deleted threads on it at once these days, that's not especially unusual any more, whereas a deleted thread used to be a rarity.

There are loads of really obviously dodgy threads going on at once this week. Some of them aren't even trying that hard. It's very boring.
