Just saw an interview with this woman and how irritating is she? I thought Diane Abbot was bad but she is dreadful!

People all have a right to their views and I am not one to say my view is right and others wrong, in my mind everyone is equal and it would be nice to think that others thought so too. With no opposition there is no democracy. You cannot blame one person alone for the failure if the labour party. The rot set in during the Blair years but I do not want to argue about what is after all history. We need to look to the future. A future where globalisation is changing the world around us and more and more people are being left behind because of it. The people being left behind are those that are disadvantaged in monetary terms. Our focus as a whole, meaning all the electorate no matter what party you support should be on the vast majority of people affected by globalisation. But this is not the case. Everyone wants to get on and have a better life and whom can blame you, we all want that for ourselves and our families but we must not lose sight of the people less fortunate. A right wing government will always err on the side if globalisation, their politics decree that they do so. The working class need a labour party to voice their concerns and I will stand up now and say yes I agree the labour party is a shambles. But I cannot agree that it is just one person that has led to the mess it is in nowadays. Globalisation has took over our world, a society that increasingly puts individuals rights and needs above others has fuelled it's growth. Until we address this problem as a society there will always be an increasing divide between the haves and gave nots. What is the solution? That I am afraid is for each individual and the electorate as a whole must decide. What sort if world do you all want? Your vote on the 8th June will decide that.

Capricorn76 · 15/05/2017 09:07

Bleedin' 'ell how many anti-Labour posts are we going to see? It's as relentless as it is obvious what is going on and I'm a swing voter. They are trying to sway undecideds and MN is a good place to target.

I'll sit and wait for the next Labour 'scandal' thread to start. My guess is the title will be something like 'OMG I've voted Labour since I was 18 but this is the last straw they are vile.' The OP will link to an article in the Express/Mail/Telegraph/Spectator showing a fuzzy image of Corbyn wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt in 1981.

People will then come in to say that this is a non-issue then the OPs Tory HQ colleagues will pile in to say 'see this is why Labour will lose the election, they're out of touch' etc etc.

So transparent and I can't believe we have about another three weeks of it. Thank goodness we don't have American length campaigns!

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 15/05/2017 09:15

If you don't like the 'anti Labour' threads how about you go and start your own private Labour thread instead of moaning.

People will then come in to say that this is a non-issue then the OPs Tory HQ colleagues will pile in to say 'see this is why Labour will lose the election, they're out of touch' etc etc.

I find it hilarious that if you don't currently like Labour or Corbyn you are a Tory HQ plant. Nothing like having a blinkered view is there.

Sostenueto · 15/05/2017 09:16

I am not anti labour.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 15/05/2017 09:27

Many long life labour supporters and party members are very upset and angry and have a lot to say about the party they have always supported and want to support but can't under the current leadership who has lead a pathetic opposition and has allowed his ideology to get in the way of Labour of gaining power or in the very least gaining more seats he isn't so stupid he doesn't know that the party need to appeal to more centre voters but he is so arrogant to put his ideology first

What a compassionate man Hmm

DoctorTwo · 15/05/2017 09:27

can someone tell me what is so great and uniquely English working class about a white man who drives a white van, likely reads the Sun and drapes the house in St George flags?

No idea. I'm a van driver, I'd rather dip my bollocks in hydrofluoric acid than read the sun, and have never owned a tiny penis flag.

But, you know, haters gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate.

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 15/05/2017 09:33

See this is the exact problem labour have at the moment.

Anyone criticising Corbyn is either from Tory party HQ or lying about being a Labour Party member/voter.

So sad sbs makes me very angry that idiots that voted Corbyn into the leadership have lost us the election and utterly failed those who need labour the most

What's the point in winning if you have to go back on your principles?
What's the point in winning if you can't implement the changes you want to make?
Or would you prefer him to pretend, and then do what he wants once in power ?

GretchenFranklin · 15/05/2017 09:47

you think that Owen Smith or Angela Eagle would have fared better? In fact I read in the Independent yesterday that Corbyn's popularity at this stage of the campaign has nudged ahead of when Milliband was at the same point.

I think Thornberry is impressive and great at dismantling Tory 'bollocks'.

LovelyBath77 · 15/05/2017 09:52

I'm sorry couldn't make head or tale of that.

OP posts:
Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 15/05/2017 09:54

Thornbury is an embaressment and certainly not up to her job. Please google the sky interview where she had no idea who the French foreign minister was and then accuses the presenter of sexism for asking her. She's as light weight as Dianne Abbott.

Angela Eagle would have been far better but was disgracefully intimidated by Corbyn supporters.

whats the point in winning what a fucking ridiculous statement.

LovelyBath77 · 15/05/2017 09:54

Sorry that was to Justanotherposter.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 15/05/2017 09:54

What's the point in winning if you have to go back on your principles?

It isn't the Corbyn party it's the Labour party.

His principles seem to be employing those from the Communist Party.

What's the point in winning if you can't implement the changes you want to make?

Not how the Labour party works. It isn't a dictatorship.

Or would you prefer him to pretend, and then do what he wants once in power ?

As above he can't do what he wants.

PerkingFaintly · 15/05/2017 10:00

You and my brother both, DoctorTwo, re the white van and Sun at least. No idea about his flag ownership, mind you.

whatcanIdo1 · 15/05/2017 10:04

Angela Eagle would have been far better but was disgracefully intimidated by Corbyn supporters

I must admit I am no fan of AE but I felt more sincerity from her than DA and ET put together it was very sad she was intimidated and threatened by Corbyn supporters.

whatcanIdo1 · 15/05/2017 10:06

His principles seem to be employing those from the Communist Party

If you ever see Peter Brookes satirical cartoons in the Times he always puts C in his workers hat and his cronies.

Stalin, Lenin and communism has caused un told horrors and misery on this planet, why people think its OK to align themselves with slaughter, thought control, murder etc is beyond me.

chilipepper20 · 15/05/2017 10:07

I don't think much either way for Thornberry, but she strikes me as someone who knows what she is talking about, in contrast to Abbot.

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 15/05/2017 10:18

So there's no point in winning an election?

This just reiterated my belief that these 'new members' who voted Corbyn in don't give a toss about ordinary working people who need a labour government they are either stupid kids who have well off parents so can indulge in this crap, champagne socialists who spout the same crap and pay a polish woman peanuts to clean their houses or Tories and communists who joined up to destabilise the party.

hackmum · 15/05/2017 10:28

Don't have a particular view on Thornberry but the whole fuss about that tweet was completely ridiculous. She captioned the photo "Image from Rochester". She didn't write "Look at this idiotic prole with his stupid English flag", did she? I read the tweet as "This is the strength of Ukip support round here - we don't really stand a chance". Or even simply "This is a striking picture". To read it as a sneer against working-class people says a lot more about the people making that insinuation, and what they think about the working-classes, than it does about Thornberry.

Sostenueto · 15/05/2017 10:30

Tell me folks out of all of you criticising the labour party what have YOU done personally to change things other than moan? Stop focusing on the mediocre MPs on both sides, the rhetoric, slagging matches, personal attacks and ask yourselves the only important question what type if country/world do you want to live in? The selfish I'm better than you, I have more rights than you selfish globalized one or the I care about other people and want a fairer country/world. If you answer that question you will know what party to vote for, inspire of likes/dislikes towards their leaders. Simples I say but then I am just a humanatarian.

BreakWindandFire · 15/05/2017 10:30

While I find ET irritating as all heck on TV, I can't understand the criticism for not styling herself Lady Nugee!

She married a Mr Nugee at the time, never took his name, and always worked under her maiden name.

Sostenueto · 15/05/2017 10:40

Does it really matter breakwind what name she took? In the great scheme of things does it matter? No it does not. If you are going to criticise someone please let it be a constructive criticism!

Sostenueto · 15/05/2017 10:41

Hackman I totally agree.

whatcanIdo1 · 15/05/2017 10:41

I dont understand why people hanging flags out the window - is a striking picture though? Doesn't she get around much?

I am in wealthy area and there are houses like that dotted all over the place with st g flags over houses.

Sostenueto · 15/05/2017 10:43

Apology breakwind didn't read your post properly xx
