Quick-should I wake the baby?

Baby is 12 months. Usually sleeps from about 18.30 to 5.30 and that's her up for the day. She's still asleep, didn't wake during the night, should I wake her??

It took me back over 30 years. Happy times...

DD slept in until 8:15am yesterday.. great! Or so I thought!

It completely threw her routine, and was awake until 8:30pm when she's usually asleep for 7pm.

Today I've woken her up at 7am! Not having another evening like last night! Grin

Our health visitor said never wake a sleeping baby

MoodyOne · 14/05/2017 08:32

Yep never wake a sleeping baby ! My LO was up 6 times last night (4 month growth spurt)... I am insanely jealous Wink

toomuchtooold · 14/05/2017 08:36

Oh man I remember those days. The window of "this is great, I'm having my breakfast in peace" before "OMG what has happened to them" is about 20 minutes.

SoupDragon · 14/05/2017 08:38

The only time I would wake a sleeping baby is during a day time nap if they'd been asleep too long. Night time? not a chance!

I have teenagers now. They don't awake til noon at weekends.

PetalMettle · 14/05/2017 08:38

Re never wake a sleeping baby I'd disagree when they are young - ds would have happily slept through all his feeds as a

PetalMettle · 14/05/2017 08:38

As a newborn was what I was about to say. Unfortunately this hasn't meant now he doesn't need to wake he sleeps!

WaxyBean · 14/05/2017 08:40

My 5 year old is still asleep - normally a 6am waker. We're all creeping around the house trying to be quiet (the 7yo got up at 6am and we have a busy day ahead so lie-ins weren't an option). Make the most of it!

BarbarianMum · 14/05/2017 08:41

I'm still like this with ds1 and he's 11. He sleeps past 6am so rarely (think maybe 10 times in 11 years) that when he does I worry there's a problem. Blush

NotMyPenguin · 14/05/2017 09:50

Never wake a sleeping baby!

Unless they are clearly ill or hot to the touch...

Heirhelp · 14/05/2017 09:52

I would. If she sleeps well at night you need to do what ever needs to be done to keep that going.
