SassynSane · 01/06/2017 21:30

Sorry to bring mood down, but you know I had my friend round on Sat eve and she had found out the day before that her DM was v poorly? She's just msgd me to say she died suddenly yesterday. So very sad and although poorly not expected at all. Fuck you cancer! She's obviously gone home but I expect we will be drinking lots of wine together very soon....Sad

caz323 · 01/06/2017 22:28

Shit, sorry to hear that, Dsass. Coincidentally, my other DBro txtd me just now to tell me that his son, my DN, phoned him just now really distressed. His friend aged 26, in a hospice, is not expected to make the night. FFS!! The cruelty of life sometimes. Feel heartily sorry for your poor friend, Sassy. Sometimes words just aren't enough. XX

SassynSane · 01/06/2017 22:43

Thanks Dcaz. I think the thing that's really got to me is that one of the ways I was able to give her some perspective on Sat night is that she had time. Time to come to terms with it. Time to spend with her DM. Time to make some more memories. Her parents live in London. She lives here in SW. She didn't even get the chance to say goodbye Sad Heartbreaking. She's gone home now but will be back this weekend and I will do my absolute best to try to pick up some of her pieces for her...

Hugs for your DN too...and you're right, sometimes words just aren't enough!

caz323 · 01/06/2017 23:25

Incredibly sad, Dsass - you're talking to the mistress of bereavement here. Your poor friend will be reeling now from absolute shock, disbelief, anger and guilt. All powerful, all-consuming emotions. Fucking hideous doesn't do it justice. I am still dealing with all four of those grotesque, soul-destroying emotions. I know it's so, so hard to know what to say as your friend's friend. My humble advice is to just let your friend cry, cry and cry some more. So very bloody sad. XXX

SassynSane · 01/06/2017 23:33

Thanks lovely friend. I'm currently sat on my decking in floods of tears myself (too much wine???). It makes you think doesn't it? This life we all lead...we make it hectic and stressful and complicated and hard but actually we need to remember it's short, it's precious, it's wonderful and we need to grab it with both hands and live the hell out of it because we only get one shot so we need to aim that shot at the stars and make our life big and bright and count!!!!!!!

Hugs lady xxx

caz323 · 01/06/2017 23:53

You've summed it up in one, sweetheart! My very poorly best friend and I, had a much-deserved holiday planned to Tenerife in 2016. We were so excited - esp since my own bereavement. God, we both needed that holiday. Tragically, she accidentally overdosed on her meds. She was 39, FFS! Poor, poor her. She was an angel. XX

SassynSane · 02/06/2017 00:06

Oh caz FlowersFlowersFlowers

Right...will you join me in my pact? We're aiming for the stars. No matter what. We owe it to those we love, alive or gone, but most of all we owe it to ourselves! I do try to live the hell out of life and lurch from one crazy caper to the next tbh but I am determined more than ever to make every day count, even if it's only in the smallest of ways....so tomorrow will be a walk by the sea, maybe an ice cream, time with DD and so on....and sometimes it will be bigger and star reaching...you with me?

Wow...this thread has taken on a whole new life of it's own hasn't it?

-'m glad I am on it! 😊

SassynSane · 02/06/2017 00:15

...am going to say goodnight...I need to curl up and let sleep wash over me...

...will catch you tomorrow...

...hope you sleep ok xx

caz323 · 02/06/2017 00:36

Jesus wept! I'm in fucking bits here now - can't stop crying at the absolute cruelty of life! What a thread this turned out to be, eh?! OP and her phone probs could not have imagined this thread in a month of Sundays!! This truly deserves to be in Classics! I'll reply properly to your post tomorrow, Dsass. Need to settle down now. Goodnight all XXX

SassynSane · 02/06/2017 08:56

Morning Brew

Well the thread wasn't quite as frivolous last night hey? More life, the universe and everything!

...hope you're ok today Dcaz?

...am looking forward to the sea, being with my DD, some calm perspective, oh and maybe an ice cream today Grin

...hope we all have a fab day!
