Stoping any rises in pension age.

Taxing the top 5% to pay for oap social care.

No tax rises to people warning under 80k.

No to nuclear weapons.

Giving workers the right to strike.

Reverse legal aid cuts, giving the poorest people access to the legal system.

No target on immigration.

Banning driver only trains to keep the underground in safe hands.

If 30 hours free childcare is on the table, there's no excuse not to work.
Except irony of ironies, it isnt adequately funded. People are paying more than they did for the same hours whilst just getting 15 free hours. Nurseries cannot afford to cover the funding gap.
A zero hours contract isnt going to be any use in securing that 16 hours qualification.

I am amazed at the crazy anti semitism washing about these days in Labour circles. Guido Fawkes website ( I know!) Shows co chair of Labour Manchester Students ranting away on social media to the point he said Hitler was Jewish.

I am not bothering to read the rest of his quoted tripe but if I've misjudged this guy let me know.

It's happening too often to be a coincidence, I feel.

Here's the IEA take on the Labour manifesto

iea.org.uk/media/labours-manifesto-pledges-would-add-at-least-40bn-to-public-spending/

Unlike Labour they've tried to cost it.

deeedeee · 11/05/2017 12:14

ooh quick let me rush and read that amazing analysis by that well know un biased bastion, the IEA

oh wow they are going on about money trees.

maybe i won't then

What the Nhs reslly needs is less people turning up with trivial complaints because we as a nation have forgotten the art of looking after ourselves and managing minor complaints. This is what a nanny state has done for us. I well remember seeing a girl in a&e with a blister on her heel and a man with a cough who kept going outside for a smoke! Public expectation and unwillingness to take responsibility for our own health is what has brought the Nhs to this crisis.

Yes and under Labour you can look forward to paying even more for your childcare once minimum wage goes up to £10ph.

In the leaked document it talks about renewing Trident. But you've all got it in your head that because JC is anti nuclear weapons, that is it we are doomed

Renewing maybe but they are also stating that they will never use it. The man is weak and he will be seen as weak by exploitative leaders all over the world. Personally I could not vote for a party that will not put the safety of it's people first.

Much rather have a lovely Nanny state, with some nice baking and a cup of tea looking after everyone, than the Sinister Uncle state we have under the Tories, driving round in his Jag, knocking back whiskey and playing poker with his old rich mates telling everyone who isn't like him to fuck off or he'll put his boot up their arse

Frazzledmum123 · 11/05/2017 12:45

Haven't read it all but just wanted to say thank you Euripidesralph - I am so sick of Labour supporters slagging all Tory voters off and talking like they are all some sort of rich racists, it's all over fb and I've seen several posts on here and if it wasn't such an important decision that needs serious thought, I'd want to vote Tory just to piss them off (I will of course not do this before I'm yelled at!)

I usually vote Tory, not sure who I will go with this time as I need to properly look into their manifestos but based on the OP's reasons it would be enough to make me def not vote Labour. Yes we couldn't use nuclear weapons but to not have them there as a warning would be madness imo

I also don't get this tax the rich thing, how is it fair? I am not rich and this wouldn't affect me but I am not rich because I made lifestyle choices to cause it. Most people on high salaries have had to make serious sacrifices to do so. My dh and I decided we wanted jobs that would mean we were around the children more, our choice and I don't see why someone who has worked harder and has less of a social life potentially, should fund that! That's the main reason I've voted Tory in the past because although some people genuinely need help, too many people think their lives should be funded by others. The only exception to that are nurses who I think should get more help (or preferably more money) than others on a similar wage

I will never vote Labour. Irrespective of how many of you on here try to tell me to. It's called democracy.

clark it's set to be £9ph under an existing Conservative budget.

Faithless · 11/05/2017 12:50

Frazzled, do you really, truly believe that people accrue wealth according to how hard they work? Nothing to do with inheritance, nepotism, system rigging to favour certain groups in society, knowing the right people, or just sheer good fortune?

Afraid Can't trust them on the figures. I remember the 70s and have no desire whatever to revisit them.
