I love hearing where people are going on their holidays...
So tell me where you're going and what you're looking forward to the most... Grin Wine

Nowhere...we're having a new kitchen.

marabounuts · 10/05/2017 19:44

nowhere Sad

I am a carer of a disabled child. haven't been able to afford anything for 10 years. DC have never been on a holiday but if we could, we would love to go somewhere warm by the sea around the Mediterranean area.

Archfarchnad · 10/05/2017 19:46

Our main family holiday is a week in Amsterdam, at DD2's request. It might well be our last holiday with DD1, who is already at uni, so we want to make the most of the culture and museums.

In a few weeks I'm going to visit DD1 at uni and help pack up her stuff for summer - it really helps that she lives on the Cote d'Azur with a view of the Med, so it will be something of a working holiday. we're also going to go walking in the southern French Alps for a few days.

And in November I'm probably going on a work jolly with my colleagues to Florence - we own the company so we can do what the heck we want with our money.

Apart from all that we live in central Europe where the summer weather is a lot hotter than the UK, so a lot of the weekends 'at home' will be spent sunbathing and wild swimming.

Biarritz in August.

Butlins Bognor for May half term.

underneaththeash · 10/05/2017 19:50

We're going to northumberland for a long weekend and Italy (a few days in Rome and then a villa for a week in the country.)

Missb00 · 10/05/2017 19:50

Mexico in 26 days.

Can't. Bloody. Wait.

bookworm14 · 10/05/2017 19:51

Lanzarote in June with DH and toddler DD. We're going to a family friendly hotel with creche and kids' activities - should be great. I'm just dreading the four-hour flight with a 22-month-old

Hulababy · 10/05/2017 19:55

Already been fortunate enough to have been away twice:

  • Florida (Disney/Universal) in February
  • Portugal (Vilamoura) at Easter

In the summer we are going to Canada and Florida. We are planning to:

  • fly to Montreal for 3 nights,
  • train/drive to Toronto for 3 nights,
  • drive to Niagara Falls for a night,
  • fly to Tamp to go to Busch Gardens for 2 nights,
  • drive for final 5 nights at Fort Myers Beach

I am really looking forward to seeing Niagara Falls in the summer. I am off to buy a new ultra wide lens for my camera this weekend in preparation!

15y DD is looking forward to Busch Gardens most. We have done the other Florida theme parks but not this one.

We have booked to go to a villa near Alicante in October, with friends.

Family holiday to Florida in August.

I have been on a city break to Pris with friends and am planning another to Lisbon in October.

Lanzarote is lovely OP, one of the nicest family holidays we've had.

Princesspinkgirl · 10/05/2017 19:57

9 days time minehead Somerset and celebrations for my 30th for next weekend eek excited

MeganChips · 10/05/2017 19:58

Pris = Paris obviously!

Dumbo412 · 10/05/2017 19:59

Florida in 30 days. It's our first time flying, then going to Lapland for Christmas. Too excited

BlondeGinger · 10/05/2017 20:03

St Ives for a week in August and Marrakech for 10 days in October. They both seem very far away at the min though.

TittyGolightly · 10/05/2017 20:26

I'm very excited! We went in October 2014 and it was stunning. This time, our almost 2 year old will be with us!

We went for new year.

Planning to live there sometime. Just amazing.

DawnAnn · 10/05/2017 20:28

New York for 5 night to celebrate our wedding anniversary on the 4th July. We are also hoping to go somewhere for a week away in October (possibly Rhodes).

JustBeingJobless · 10/05/2017 20:32

That's 3 of us going to Duinrell in August! We need to wear a MN scarf or something so we can nod knowingly at each other Grin

chiquita1 · 10/05/2017 20:34

Cordoba and Jaen in June. Samarkand, Bhukhara and Tashkent in August (I am really excited about this). Toledo in October.

SouthPole · 10/05/2017 20:44

Duinrell - would it be good for a family of five - 4, 6 and 8 at end of August do you think?

Is it very expensive (even once there!£ like CP?

Will it be warm?

Am looking for a holiday for the family but I hate holidays...I know, I'm weird...

Astella22 · 10/05/2017 20:45

Lanzarote for 5 days at the end of May and 10 nights in the Seychelles in Sept to say I cannot wait is an understatement!

Greycat11 · 10/05/2017 21:02

Zakynthos in August, return trip to Alykanas, can't wait. Should really make a start on the diet...

JustBeingJobless · 10/05/2017 21:14

@SouthPole Duinrell isn't expensive at all once you're there. All the rides, bar a couple of activities in the woods, are free and there's a town (wassenaar) within a 5-10 minute walk where there's loads of shops. The onsite supermarket isn't particularly cheap, but it's not too bad. I'm going end of August for the third year. We love it!

AllFurCoatNoKnockers · 10/05/2017 21:15

Off to south of France in 3 weeks with DH and DS. Can't wait to escape! In the middle of sunflower fields, vineyards and babysitters. Can feel myself relaxing already.

Girls weekend to Croatia end of July.

Malaysia for the Grand Prix in October, it's DH's 30th birthday and it's a total surprise. Not sure how I'm managing to keep a lid on it.

And there are rumblings of a big family holiday somewhere hot over Christmas.

SouthPole · 10/05/2017 21:55

@JustBeingJobless appreciate that👍

ProfessorPickles · 10/05/2017 21:55

An island in Greece in august! I can't wait to get some sun

BuzzKillington · 10/05/2017 21:58

New York and then down to Florida, but thankfully, not Disney.
