Why don't crumpets come in an 8 pack?

Six is just daft. Four crumpets is a sensible serving. But then you're left with two stragglers.

Is it a ploy to make us buy two packs? I think it's well shifty.

I've discovered Picklets in Tesco. They're thinner than a crumpet and instead of the hard base on the bottom, it's the same as the top. It's bad because I've eaten a whole pack in one sitting because they're so addictive. I'll post a picture when home.

And if I don't breathe them all in beforehand.

Warburton's normal sized crumpets come in a pack of 8.

4 is a big portion!

Once you've had Wharburtons there's no going back. Only problem is they are about double the price of own brand. One is a serving in our house though; they're pretty stodgy.

Eggy bread crumpets are gorgeous.

Love crumpets really well done with loadsa butter and lemon curd or Marmite or primula or jam.

8 is no good to me. I have 3 in a serving so packs of 6 or 9 (can't remember who does 9 but I have had them) work out well.

I applaud you having 4. I have 3 for breakfast at work and everyone feels the needs to comment on it

I'll echo a previous poster and say Asda does 9. I usually buy warburtons but they were sold out so got Asda ones and you really can't tell the difference!

Though I do eat 2 at a time so the last serving is only 1 :( don't think I'd manage 3 in one go (never mjnd 4!?)

Oh, mine are Kingsmill. Oops. Either are the boss of crumpets though.

Butter (obvs). Then either marmite, melted cheddar or Brie/Camembert depending on my mood.

4! I didn't know we were allowed 4, I've been eating 2 like a chump. I'm getting some more on right now.

4 for a lunch serving is not ridiculous... it's about 400 calories plus what ever you put on them...
I like a little lemon curd or nutella so 4 would total round 500 calories for me which as part of my 2000 (government recommended) calories in a day is fine....
BTW... I actually eat a lot more calories than that ... but tend to have only 2 crumpets as a snack... but that's me...

Yeah, they get pushed down in the toaster once then again for a half.

We get Warburtons 9 packs and it never works out at the right number, but they just go in the freezer.

I have 2 with poached eggs on or 3 on their own.

Harriet I whack the toaster up to 11 and do it that way and then forget to turn it back down so the next lot of toast gets burnt.

Crumpets must be toasted until they are super crunchy but not quite burnt. The end! Toasted for a bit, then grilled with cheese on top, with salt/pepper/ketchup they are an amazing lunch!

I've never thought of using them with dippy egg. DS does sometimes have Speedy Sausages to dip.

Where I come from we used to call Crumpets.... Pikelets. There used to be a stall in the market just selling these.

I think a portion is two...though OH usually does one and I feel cheated, though wont complain as someone else is doing it for me...the Giant ones wont fit in our toaster

Perhaps for the same reason that burgers come in packs of 4 but buns in packs of 6.
