As the impartial CPS will not be charging any candidates for alleged electoral fraud, yet this was what many said was the reason for May's calling an election.

I always thought that the election was for a strong mandate going into the negotiations with Brussels. I assume that everyone must now.

I am not a "Tory hater", although I am very concerned with the direction this country is heading in at the moment.
I completely agree with this: If you think the election is to give May a better mandate to negotiate with the EU then you're an idiot. It's nothing more than a power grab which wouldn't be happening if Labour were stronger. Government works better with a strong opposition to hold it to account. We're now on course for a dictatorship which will be terrible for the country.

The country didn't vote for a hard brexit. All they voted for was to leave the EU. May approach is pandering to the right wing of her party and history will judge her harshly for it.

And also what robinofsherwood, and BreakWindandFire said.

Notanotherelection · 10/05/2017 12:36

Well that's a given isn't it nocake

I imagine the op thought Brexit was the main reason and that doesn't make her a 'colossal idiot' how rude

Miniwookie · 10/05/2017 12:36

Wondering what Tory-haters will say about what? I hate the way the Tory party are running the country rather than hating Tories per se, but the election fraud thing was very much a side-issue. I don't think the CPS not choosing to prosecute us going to change anyone's views on the party.

NoLoveofMine · 10/05/2017 12:37

The country didn't vote for a hard brexit.

The country didn't vote for any kind of Brexit, simply, as you say, to leave the EU. The problem is by voting as such in the referendum, free reign has been given to those politicians in power at the time of the negotiations. There's nothing stopping them from enacting a "hard Brexit" as no-one voted not to have one either. Another reason the referendum was so misguided.

Nocake

"A dictatorship". When I hear ridiculous exaggerations, I think you have to be a colossal idiot to actually believe this is true.

Mind you, some chumps do gobble up soundbites. Can't say 'the opposition's soundbites' as Corbyn is best known by everyone, including people who should be his allies, for not being able to make cohesive arguments.

OP posts:
scottishdiem · 10/05/2017 12:38
  1. CPS say not in the public interest. This is not the same as saying there is no evidence.
  1. May could win every seat and doesn't change the negotiating position a single jot. May says Macron got a mandate from his election. Wrong. France is not negotiating the UKs exit. Europe is. Its 27 v 1, via the Commission and the EU Parliament. Not UK v France and Germany. Some people really do not seem to understand this. Including May for some reason.
Notanotherelection · 10/05/2017 12:40

Look I voted remain and am worried too.

However people voted to leave the EU and if the EU won't allow us to close our boarders while staying in the commen market, and why should they, then a hard Brexit is inevitable isn't it?

I think history will judge Cameron for holding the election, Blaire for allowing the free movement of people and Corbyn for his utter lack of support for remain.

roarityroar · 10/05/2017 12:40

This news made me very happy.

Of course the GE hasnt been called because TMPM suspected that 30 MPs would be forced out.

In my experience you always know who is a Tory voter because they're. So. Keen. To. Tell. You.

Repeatedly. 😂

@FanjoForTheMammaries

Do keep up dear, when you've finished 'lol'ing, of course.

I think you meant 'colossal idiot'.
Some chumps really gobble up all her soundbites and believe them absolutely.

The "if only we had unlimited money" comment is often later followed up with "we are the fifth largest economy in the World!" not anymore we're not "No matter what the economic impact of crashing out of the EU will be, it will be worth it! No deal is better than compromise!"

(only with the hardliners though - I know plenty of Tory voters who are much more sensible than that, and some who are utter twats).

Spectacularly missing the point. It's like Tory voter bingo.

Bet. That's. How. You. Talk. To

MaggieLightBlue · 10/05/2017 12:57

Sheesh.

I'm not sure you're in a position to be correcting people's posts! Have your own posts back?

'Can't say 'the opposition's soundbites' as Corbyn is best known by everyone, including people who should be his allies, for not being able to make cohesive arguments.'

olliegarchy99 · 10/05/2017 12:58

so the law found no case to answer and YET still you all bleat that there was something illegal going on.
I know I prefer to stand by the law of this country as it is all that keeps us from becoming a braying mob of haters who distrust everything Hmm

Somerville · 10/05/2017 12:58

Very recent Tory hater here. You want to know what I have to say? Impending, wide-spread child poverty and widowed parent poverty, that's what.

The Prime Minister should be embarrassed to call herself a Christian.

squoosh · 10/05/2017 12:59

'No sipping the cooking sherry until after 1pm'

A slogan that will ensure one lives a strong and stable life.

JacquesHammer · 10/05/2017 13:00

Besides @ProudConservative. Punctuating speech by full stops between each work is an accepted and acknowledged way of denoting speech of a certain speed and emphasis of word.

HTH

JacquesHammer · 10/05/2017 13:00

*word

NoLoveofMine · 10/05/2017 13:03

Funding to refuges being cut so catastrophically and a huge amount of money from the so called "tampon tax" going to anti-abortion groups is also horrific.
