To think that Holly and Phil look down on nearly all their guests?

Maternity Leave and cluster feeding baby has led me into the world of brain rot This Morning, Lorraine and Loose Women.
I have come to feel uncomfortable with the power imbalance of the guests and H&P.
They (H&P) are always slightly condescending towards/ amused by the people who appear on the show- usually vulnerable people (for whom if it wasn't for them the show wouldn't exist) they never share any if the imperfections about their own lives but love getting into the juicy details of the poor decisions of others which really annoys me.
They seem annoyingly squeaky clean and too good to be true.
I wish one day Phil would say, 'And coming up next after the break, I will be sharing about a harrowing round of genital warts I once had and Holly will be discussing her marriage niggles.

I don't even watch it but loving this thread Grin

AprilLudgateDwyer · 09/05/2017 14:41

HW does baby voice which drives me mad. Trying to be sexy yuck

Frazzledmum123 · 09/05/2017 15:02

Not really the same but on the subject of daytime tv, does anyone find programs like 'can't pay, we'll take it away' really uncomfortable? Just caught the end of it waiting for Neighbours to start, yes I'm that desperate and even I, who openly admits to thinking one of the major problems with the country is people thinking they are entitled to things without working for them, find it awful. People's lives being turned upside down, even if it's their own fault, and it being used for entertainment seems so so wrong to me.

DameSquashalot · 09/05/2017 23:14

I'm not a huge fan of Eamonn. I always find myself shouting STFU at the tv.

I was madly in love with Schofe when he was in the broom cupboard and I saw him in Joseph, but now I find him irritating.

I have no idea why I watch it. I find Rylan really fake too, but I guess that's part of his 'thing'.

Shockedwife · 10/05/2017 10:05

Oh I really like Rylan, I think he is more real than all of them and quite humble too.

Daytime tv? You deserve what you get for watching such carp.

flowerpress · 10/05/2017 10:48

I'm not expert becuase I don't watch often but I always think Holly comes across as very judgemental and sanctimonious. It does appear that she has no idea how privileged she is.

flowerpress · 10/05/2017 10:52

Yes to the whole daytime shows of saints and sinners, can't pay we'll take it away, Rip Off Britan, don't get man get dom etc My husband calls it "project fear" as his retired parents sit at home watching it and are now totally paranoid about everything. Its like the tv equivalent of the daily fail. However its also insidious and damaging to the nations psyche.

flowerpress · 10/05/2017 10:55

Anyway you are all missing the best morning tv watching ITV and BBC, turn over to CBS reality for some hoarders action!

Shockedwife · 10/05/2017 10:59

flowerpress Yes to project fear.
My late mother used to watch these things and it really made her feel like a waste of space :( because she hd no choice but to be on benefits.

I agree with this. I think he knows that he's bloody lucky to have had such a big break work out so well, and is living the/his dream. I like him.

kissmethere · 10/05/2017 16:46

Had to come back to agree with Holly doing the baby voice. So many things I couldn't quite put my finger on about her in this thread.
As well as the sexual innuendo directed at her on CJ and the opposite to fearne always made me feel like she gloating about.

kissmethere · 10/05/2017 16:47

Love Rylan.

Thinkingofausername1 · 10/05/2017 19:16

Wouldn't be surprised if something is going on between them

HelenaDove · 10/05/2017 19:35

Cant stand Dom He only seems to give a shit when its homeowners being screwed over. Tenants dont count.

And from the interviews Gino has done he comes across as controlling................behind a cheeky chappie persona yes but still....

heateallthebuns · 11/05/2017 16:05

I hate how trinny says 'piece' as well, as in 'this is a lovely piece from wallis'; no it's a dress / skirt / top.

mollyminniemo · 11/05/2017 16:10

Find them both nauseating. He is the biggest smarmy, insincere cheese going and she with her big doe eyes , trying to connect with these oh so average women that yes, she would snigger about in a bitchy way with her cool other tv pals, first chance given- so so fake. I used to work in TV, I still hear things- she is not a nice person.

DameSquashalot · 19/05/2017 11:18

I think I owe Eamonn an apology. He's a nice guy, but he annoys me sometimes.

Hotheadwheresthecoldbath · 19/05/2017 11:31

Stopped watching when Holly started, she's to plastic for me.

NancyDonahue · 19/05/2017 11:34

Eamonn and Ruth are lovely. I rarely watch them but just saw them interviewing a young lad who won a Diana award, for speaking out against bullying, and they were so natural with him.

DameSquashalot · 22/05/2017 14:59

That's what prompted my apology.
