To think that Holly and Phil look down on nearly all their guests?

Maternity Leave and cluster feeding baby has led me into the world of brain rot This Morning, Lorraine and Loose Women.
I have come to feel uncomfortable with the power imbalance of the guests and H&P.
They (H&P) are always slightly condescending towards/ amused by the people who appear on the show- usually vulnerable people (for whom if it wasn't for them the show wouldn't exist) they never share any if the imperfections about their own lives but love getting into the juicy details of the poor decisions of others which really annoys me.
They seem annoyingly squeaky clean and too good to be true.
I wish one day Phil would say, 'And coming up next after the break, I will be sharing about a harrowing round of genital warts I once had and Holly will be discussing her marriage niggles.
AIBU?

I find P much more annoying than H. He is so smug. He thinks he's such a cut-throat journo.

Mrspopper.......her husbands 'apparently ' unfaithful......that is no reflection on Holly herself!

StillHungryy · 09/05/2017 03:13

Always makes me Hmmwhen people say CJ is for the hard of thinking as far as I'm aware they've never advertised it as a high brow show. I admit there's sexually crude jokes that make me go sometimes ShockBlush but it also happens to male guests, seems strange how people can have such an opinion of a show when they act so intellectually superior that they would never watch it so can't logically have a knowledgeable opinion about it. Nobody is forcing you to watch it and I don't think what you watch on TV contributes to whether you're smart or not.

derxa · 09/05/2017 03:19

Martin Lewis is sadly a massive twonk He has cold dead eyes. I also hate Holly and Phil for all the afore mentioned. How I miss Richard and Judy.

e1y1 · 09/05/2017 03:31

YABU - you're on Mat Leave and missed ITVs pièce de résistance - Jeremy Kyle Grin.

In regard to your AIBU -YANBU! Cannot stand them, they laud it over and they're so giggly and school girl/boyish.

It was funny the first few times, but it seems every time I catch it they're "hysterical" about something.

ThatsNotMyMummy · 09/05/2017 03:44

Your missing out BBC 2 Victoria Derbyshire and women's hour.

I used to love holly and Phil but they've lost a bit of something when they cut the news out. They've gone more light hearted and celeb interviews. Too much Gino "oh holly likes meat" innuendo, he's just creepy. So I've stopped watching and I religiously watched it and sky plus' it if I was out. Rylan did it last summer and he was brilliant, it was a shocker but he dealt with pretty shitty stuff really well and had real empathy.
Ruth and Eamon I really disliked, Ruth came across as quite arrogant twirling around in her louboutins one day (genuinely it was a big thing on an episode!). But now I really like them.

honeyroar · 09/05/2017 03:49

I agree e1y1, they genuinely laughed at something ten years ago and got a lot of attention for it, so decided that they'd fake laugh at something every episode since then. It's boring!! They're as fake as fuck. Neither of them, and particularly PS, give a toss about much other than themselves and ££.

I love Celebrity Juice though. It's hysterical. It's not meant to be serious, all the sexist and god knows what else jokes - it makes Keith Lemon look stupid rather than really insulting anyone, IMO. I'd like to meet him in real life, see what he's really like (whatever he's called!).

theaveragewife · 09/05/2017 04:51

honeyroar he's quite normal and really nice.

Frazzledmum123 · 09/05/2017 05:37

Oh don't ruin them for me,, I've always loved them! Don't actually watch the show mind, just seen the odd bit so might have to start. Helenadove- I missed that, how did they treat them?
I can't believe anyone liked Richard and Judy, now there was a pair of sanctimonious twats if ever I saw them. I once saw an interview with a bloke who wa trying to stop his wife aborting their planned for, completely healthy baby and Judy absolutely ripped into him for it. Whatever your views on abortion the bloke was just desperate and I never watched it after that
I'm also on mat leave and I like the wright stuff, he seems quite balanced and I like the need part, plus 'behind closed doors' is on after if baby really is having a cluster feed day!

Totally wondering why Sisinisawa was on this morning Shock

Frazzledmum123 · 09/05/2017 05:37

*news part not need

derxa · 09/05/2017 05:50

I like the wright stuff, he seems quite balanced Really Confused

AnnaFiveTowns · 09/05/2017 05:54

I just think they're both intensely irritating. And that thing where they both get the giggles over some inane sexual reference...give me strength...

RubbishMantra · 09/05/2017 06:10

I loved it when it was Richard and Judy. He decided to take the phone calls on air one day about thrush and cystitis, in spite of having no knowledge on the subject. And then there's the time he tried to do a runner with a trolley full of wine! Grin

A girl I shared a room with at college had LOADS of posters of Schofield stuck on the wall around her bed. A friend drew comedy glasses and mustaches on them. She wasn't pleased.

Frazzledmum123 · 09/05/2017 06:48

Derxa- do you not think so? I know he has his options on things but he's always prepared to be swayed too if the argument is there I think. Please don't ruin him for me too, I never appreciated just how crap daytime telly was until being forced to sit for hours in front it Grin

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2017 06:50

I like PS. Soft spot from the Broom Cupboard days and I saw him in Joseph twice.
HW is in the wrong job as she cries and giggles her way through. Plus agree that you can't do CJ every week and expect to be taken seriously. Even if you DH is the producer...

Can't watch Eamonn and Ruth. It's cringetastic. He especially is awful.

Love Alison Hammond and Rylan.

derxa · 09/05/2017 07:02

Frazzled Sorry I know how important it is to have day time telly on to pass the time during the constant BF. I watch TWS but only to see how he manages to shift everything to his point of view. His guests are often achingly privileged metropolitan types. I like Terry Christian on it because he is often an irritating twat but knows it.
Anyway Happy BFeeding Flowers

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2017 07:03

I quite like TWS if the panel is good. If Lowri Turner is on I switch off though.

derxa · 09/05/2017 07:07

If Lowri Turner is on I switch off though. She is pretty self obsessed and she does something quite odd with her mouth.

scoopmuckanddizzyrollytoo · 09/05/2017 07:20

Lowri was doing her anti vax chat yesterday, another reason to hate her Grin

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2017 07:25

One of my favourite episodes of TWS was when Anthony Costa from Blue was doing the newspaper bit. So funny.

derxa · 09/05/2017 07:28

Anthony Costa from Blue Grin That's his actual name. Like 'H From Steps'

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2017 07:40

Yes or Anthony Costa Piss up a Cashpoint from Blue. Grin

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 09/05/2017 08:36

Too many holidays that they then throw in our faces with the pics when they get back.

Sparklingbrook · 09/05/2017 08:37

I am always a little bit Hmm when the three multi millionaires PS, HW and ML sit there telling us how to save 20p on our weekly shop.

But I am adding to their £££s by watching it I guess.

redshoeblueshoe · 09/05/2017 09:10

Or when they sent Louise Rednapp on a mega expensive holiday, they only showed one episode - I think they had too many complaints.
