To shit on all their pillows?

Just cleaned the bathroom. Went to clean the toilet at the end and found the bog brush caked in dried shit. Completely caked, not just a bit grimy. The holder covered too.

I'm fucking fuming. DCs are all adults - 19+ (except the baby & it clearly wasn't him), DP is obviously an adult too. I'm a SAHM so I clean the bathroom, so they knew they were leaving it for me.

It is so fucking disrespectful, I am actually in tears here.

I don't even know what my aibu is because I can't see how I'm nbu to be so angry.

I'd pour milk on all their pillows. Let them find something that festers with time.

Haffdonga · 07/05/2017 18:44

I think a proper rant is in order, shittystick. With swear words and everything.

Shoveyourshittystickupyourarse · 07/05/2017 19:09

Haffdonga that's what I did but got told to 'calm down' and stop overreacting.

DP is now in the huff with me and I am getting the sniffy treatment.

I'm starting to think that doing away with the loo brush is a good idea. Then when it's everyone's turn on the new rota for bathroom duty, they get some rubber gloves and a cloth and they can do it the hard way.

I'd be hiding my toothbrush if I were you, OP. Just in case.

CherryMintVanilla · 07/05/2017 19:20

It was probably your DP who did it. Divide the cleaning jobs up more fairly - things shouldn't be left for you to deal with. You are not the Shit Fairy for a household of adults.

GloriaV · 07/05/2017 19:41

I would bin the loo brush. Print out a clear instruction on how to clean skid marks (as described above , you use a bit of bog roll) and pin it above toilet.
And next to that have a rest of the year long chart of whose turn it is to clean the bathroom each Saturday. And that you will check it after cleaning. This chart will not include your name BTW.

SnapJack68 · 07/05/2017 20:24

Haha thanks rainbowjack... an informative read!

Especially the advice not to remove skiddies when still paper in the toilet lsst you cake the brush in paper AND poo and then leave it to dry up into some poopy paper mache shell on the brush

Shoveyourshittystickupyourarse · 07/05/2017 20:37

My toothbrush lives in my bedroom (hiding from toilet flushes with the lid up, ick) but am very tempted to hide it properly now!

Bog roll in the bog brush is minging. I hate traditional brushes which is why I got the flushable ones. Not happy to hear that they don't disintegrate though.

I'd be fuming too. Loo roll first to move skids then bleach on brush to clean and keep brush clean. They need to learn

TreeTop7 · 07/05/2017 21:15

This incident represents how you're treated in general I think. That is why you're miserable.

You may be a SAHM but that doesn't mean you're a skivvy. Everyone (bar the baby!) should be chipping in with chores. And they wouldn't be "helping you" - they'd merely be doing a share.

MyPatronusIsAUnicorn · 07/05/2017 21:28

I never got the hatred for toilet brushes as I've only ever used them as the OP in the linked thread. I never knew that others use them to wipe the skid marks away then leave it festering and this is where the hate comes from! That is 😝! I have a couppe of friends who hate toilet brushes, now I know what they think they are used for!

HerBluebiro · 07/05/2017 21:55

OK gotta admit. Loo brush is for cleaning the loo. Shit goes down the loo. Skid marks are cleaned by a squirt of toilet duck. A scrub with the brush and then a flush of the loo to clean the brush - a squirt of bathroom cleaner on the bristles and a scrub around the loo again followed by another clan brush. A shake on the rim to ensure there's no excess water. Then it is away. Chucked out every now and then for a new model.

Dp occasionally uses it to shift a log. I detest this as dp rarely cleans the bristles properly. But I will get it satisfactory or chuck it out for a new one. I'm not sure what dp should use instead to shift a blockage. And I'd rather the blockage was cleared.

I too used to leave below water line skid marks. But it bothered dp so now I clean them away. The handle stays clean though. No idea how op's culprit got shit on the handle
