Keep Your Mutt On A Frigging Lead

Out running canalside this morning and an unleashed dog came bounding up, tongue lolling maniacally, and jumped up at me, frenziedly snuffling at my sweaty snatch whilst I frantically tried to side-step its mangy mass. I thundered at its owner: 'Get this thing off me!' and hurled a couple of panicky expletives (I'm not a lover of dogs and to have one jump up whilst running was scary).

AIBU to think far too many dog owners think the world ought to love their mutt? Surely a dog should be controlled on a canal towpath? Grr.

I love my nieces and nephews but I would certainly save my pets over them in a fire if I had to choose

What the fuck is wrong with you?

If you were my ds (actually are you sil?) and that scenario ever happened...

I would butcher those mutts in front of you for letting actual children die over a fucking short lived animal.

And I actually do like dogs, really Grin

But that is fucking batshit.

What are you doing on a towpath if you're not towing a barge? And if you're running, chances are, you were breaking the speed limit.

Well, let’s hope this is an attempt at humour. If not, then please be sure to inform the relevant parents/guardians of your proposed course of action in an emergency. You may well have to face being struck off their Christmas card list though.

This is a very good reason to keep dogs on a lead

Wow are you for real? Like a previous poster said if you were my sibling and rescued a pet over my children, your niece and nephew, I'd dispatch your pets right there and then. If one of my siblings expressed that sentiment in front of me I'd seriously reconsider our relationship.

This is why we have wars. Complete and utter sociopaths sharing the planet with normal people.
