Seriously, is there ^anyone^ on MN who does not want Labour to win on June 8?

Come out, come out wherever you are!
I know it will mean you will be attacked and preached at, you will be told you are rich, uncaring and hate everyone except yourself, but will anyone stand with me and admit to planning on voting Conservative on June 8?
I can't be the only one surely? I didn't vote the Conservatives in by myself in 2015!

I'm glad you are not dismissing the concerns many have spoken about here.
I wish it was as simple as "I hate the Tories and I want a Labour government". I do hate the Tories but I cannot bring myself to vote for THIS prospective Labour government.
If people still want to vote for Corbyn, that's their choice. But rubbishing those who can't or won't, calling us Red Tories and querying whether we even care about those who need extra help is not on.

They will vote Tory for the same reason they voted Thatcher [shudders at mention of her name]. More convincing as a credible solution to our problems. It's like asking why did people in economically deprived areas that have had loads of inward investment from the EU vote Leave [shudder at that too] Because they aren't convinced that the same old same old works for them.
The Tories are currently doing a better job of convincing people that their approach will fix the mess we are in.
New Labour convinced. Tired old 70s rehash Labour does not.

Thank you, Just. An interesting voice.

Interesting article

Not really, it basically says that if you're not being physically threatened you're being silly

Language and micro-agressions matter too

Nobody is saying that anti-semitism in the labour party is as bad as a lynch mob which seems to be the premise of that article

Bit like saying "its not anti-black racism if you aren't about to get tarred and feathered"

I would really prefer to have another choice, I'm not a Corbynista.

However the Tories introduced austerity policies that failed, called a general election because they wanted to be able to ditch pledges on taxation and pensions - and the majority of people dont even seem to know what a mess they have made of the country's finances.

Arent you now dismissing the writers experience because is doesnt match your narrative?

I do find it hard to get my head round Labour supporters voting TORY because of him though.

The answer lies in the attitude of the hard left themselves:

Left-leaning Voter: I don't like the Tories and want to support Labour, so could we maybe have a Labour leadership that isn't to the left of Marx?

Corbynista: Blairite! Neoliberal warmonger! If you don't like Jeremy, why don't you just fuck off and join the Tories?

Left-leaning Voter: OK then, will do.

Theresa May: Grin

Well said, MrsS.

Radishal exactly the same am so disappointed with labour.

This is it they haven't been held to account by a robust opposition. And they will bloody well win and to be honest they seem the only credible option to most people.

TessTube · 10/05/2017 17:34

Fanjo I really have seen that exchange on line - actually quite a lot.

Especially around the time of the coup when things got really heated.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 10/05/2017 17:36

Labour leadership that isn't to the left of Marx?

Go and read some Marx first and then come back, again Im laying my bias on the table, I'm very left.

The UK is now known for having the most right wing media in Britain, and with Nigel Farage stating on Any Questions on Saturday that Teresa Mae has pretty much delivered the 2015 UKIP manifesto there has clearly been a shift to the right in political discourse, so framed from a very right wing direction Corbyn would indeed seem hard left, a lot of his policies are politically centrist in nature. Theres also a report out showing that Corbyns policies only get reported accurately 11% of the time, this falls to 0% in the Mail and Express

JustAnotherPoster00 · 10/05/2017 17:38

I wish I could find these other 2 though Corben and Corbin they sound awful as leaders Grin

I meant to say in Europe not in Britain for clarity

TessTube · 10/05/2017 17:48

I posted on another thread yesterday that labour voters want some left, there is a sliding scale and the sweet spot was about a three!

Seriously, is there ^anyone^ on MN who does not want Labour to win on June 8?
JustAnotherPoster00 · 10/05/2017 17:49
