I'm normally quite cold in my office so tend to just keep my coat on all day at work - is this weird? It's a nice trench coat but I feel like it is actually quite strange to do this! I work inside...

If yu wee wearing a jumper and be cold like this, hen I would understand why you were wearing a coat too.
As a colleague, I would also be concerned that the office is too cold for you and ask you how you are and if there is anything we can do re temperature.

As the issue is that you only wear a thin dress... please just dress appropriately and leave the coat for outside.

As an aside, if you have your coat on all day inside, how do you cope when you go out? Aren't you getting really really cold suddenly?

summerlovinggirl · 03/05/2017 21:17

As my grandmother would say -
"But you won't feel the benefit when you go outside!!!!"

gregoriesgirl · 03/05/2017 21:25

Hmm, odd. I suggest that you don't play the music from The Full Monty in your office or you might find your colleagues giving you some very strange looks.

CrochetBelle · 03/05/2017 21:25

I think wearing a coat all day would be fine if you were a lollipop lady.

But indoors, in an office, yea it's weird. And that coat is ming.

SparklyUnicornPoo · 03/05/2017 21:26

Nice coat, but it is definitely a coat not blazer or cardi like.

I'd think it a bit odd, could you maybe buy a long cardi to wear?

mouse26 · 03/05/2017 21:26

Not weird. At my last workplace I had a blanket and hot water bottle as well as my coat. My current workplace is a bit warmer so I just have my coat Grin

Judydreamsofhorses · 03/05/2017 21:27

I'm a lecturer and really hate it when students wear their coats in classes - something like a denim jacket isn't too bad, but a big bulky coat just looks ridiculous (unless the heating was broken, or similar). If my mum saw you she would say, "oh, are you not staying, OP?", which would be v annoying and rude, but also on the tip of my tongue.

ArseholesOnToast · 03/05/2017 21:31

Could you get a coatigan? As a sort of halfway compromise?

I think a coat worn inside is a bit odd.

juniorcakeoff · 03/05/2017 21:31

I do this sometimes, people wind me up and say I am always planning to escape (true, I am in and out of office building so not sitting there all day in a coat. My SIL works with young adults with ASD and finds many of her clients wear coat inside all the time so there could be something in the comfort idea...

Chewbecca · 03/05/2017 21:32

Er, you need a vest, a cardi, thicker dresses, anything that makes you the appropriate temperature to sit in your office without your coat.

PenguinOfDoom · 03/05/2017 21:38

If someone in my office wore their coat all the time inside, yes, I would think it was weird.

If I get cold at work I have a shawl in my drawer that I put on instead.

ImAHeartbreaker · 03/05/2017 21:41

In fairness it's not an office it's a small room! I've only been doing it the past couple of days

No, that is definitely a camel coat.

ADishBestEatenCold · 03/05/2017 23:17

It's weird and (totally irrationally) if I were your boss I'd be concerned that you hadn't settled into your work (always dressed to leave Smile).

What sort of dresses do you wear? Could you wear a thicker dress. Or trousers, a top and a smart cardigan/tunic?
