AIBU here? I have just found out that my husband and his ex-partner took their child to the doctors together!! Nothing serious, just a minor skin ailment!! AIBU to be so f'ing annoyed that he never told me and I found out by mistake?

OP posts:
P1nkP0ppy · 01/05/2017 16:22

Gross over-reaction.
It's their child.
It's none of your business.

LedaP · 01/05/2017 16:23

You get on.
They do stuff together with theit child anyway and you are happy with this

But livid a doctor's appointment wasnt mentioned. There has got to be more to this.

FubbyChucker · 01/05/2017 16:24

Weird thread

happypoobum · 01/05/2017 16:24

They do all the parently things together, this is never a issue.

So why would he think to mention it to you then if it's what they normally do and is never an issue?

I think you need to get a grip.

JustSpeakSense · 01/05/2017 16:28

I think you are massively overreacting and if you have form for this, then that'll be why he didn't tell you.

innagazing · 01/05/2017 16:28

Meh...

AWaspOnAWindowInAHeatwave · 01/05/2017 16:30

Reverse?

PurpleDaisies · 01/05/2017 16:30

Is the op coming back?

I wonder if this is a reverse and the op is the ex who is bemused at the new partner's ott anger.

alonsypot · 01/05/2017 16:31

Has to be a reverse

ChaChaChaCh4nges · 01/05/2017 16:34

Is the skin condition infectious? Is that why you would expect to be told?

Ffs that was meant to be a Confused

RebelRogue · 01/05/2017 16:35

I assume OP is one of those people that passes herself as an awesome, lovely ,accepting, open minded, liberal person , as long as everyone sticks to the script. Her OH didn't stick to the script hence the "lividness"

Elphaba99 · 01/05/2017 16:41

This is billy-bloody-bonkers. (Waiting with bated breath for back story)

FrenchMartiniTime · 01/05/2017 16:43

Maybe OP hasn't been back because she's drafting the longest back story in history!

paxillin · 01/05/2017 16:43

I bet there are loads of things he doesn't tell you if a doctor's appointment leaves you livid. Does he usually have to report everything he does? It would normally come up in conversation, but maybe you have form for overreacting so the thought it best not to mention it.

gamerchick · 01/05/2017 16:50

alonsypot · 01/05/2017 16:52

Too busy shoving him back into the cellar I reckon.

AyUpMiDuck · 01/05/2017 16:57

YABU if your child was ill you might want to involve your partner especially if it is a condition that needs managing and you don't see the (ex)partner very often.

witsender · 01/05/2017 16:57

The fact you make a point of saying that it was a minor ailment does kind of indicate that you don't think it justified him being there. But he is the parent just as much as she is.

Benedikte2 · 01/05/2017 17:04

I think the OP feels her DH ought to have mentioned he was gong to the dr with his ex and child. Why would he not? It is easy to feel excluded and maybe insecure when one's spouse and their ex engage in activities without our knowledge.

Rugratstruggles · 01/05/2017 17:11

Christ exs girlfriend would get bored very quickly if he told her every thing he does with me and DC.

He popped in whilst he was driving by the other day to say hi to DD. Doubt he mentioned it to his girlfriend, why would he?

nokidshere · 01/05/2017 17:11

Presumably the DH has lied about where he was that day which is why the op was so upset?

If DH was at home, said he was going out, and didn't mention a Drs trip with his son and ex that would be odd. If he was at work and he left work to go it would still be odd that he didn't mention it in passing when talking later about his day.

If everything is sorted and there is no animosity there would be no need to omit the information.

GinIsIn · 01/05/2017 17:14

Did their relationship break up because your DH had an affair with the doctor? Because otherwise to be so worked up over it is just plain bizarre.

nokidshere · 01/05/2017 17:16

rugrats but why wouldn't he mention it if there wasn't a problem? Surely he'd go home and say I dropped in to see dd on the way to blah blah. She was cute/funny/ happy to see me...

DH and Ds1 travel by train to work and school. When we are chatting later DH will say "I bumped into da1 at the station with his mates" etc - it's a totally normal part of conversation about the day
