One pillow or two?

KellysZeros · 01/05/2017 10:14

I always sleep in our bed with two pillows, one stacked on the other. DH complains, as he lies on his one pillow, that it is like looking up at a mountain.

But surely, two pillows is correct, isn't it? Why do hotels always give two pillows if you're meant to discard one?

One...two would put your head at a weird angle unless your pillows are really thin

Lelloteddy · 01/05/2017 10:17

I have four. Top two are feather. Bottom two are firm.

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 01/05/2017 10:17

I like there to be two, but actually only use one (weird). Except while pregnant, in which case anywhere between three and fifty three will do...

One for sleep, 2 or 3 to prop up for tv or reading then I chuck them in the floor when I'm tired

dementedpixie · 01/05/2017 10:18

We all have 2

Goatfucker · 01/05/2017 10:18

No pillows. Can't sleep on pillows, I have to lie totally flat. I don't even understand how people can sleep with them.

PeaFaceMcgee · 01/05/2017 10:18

Depends how thick they are. Your head should be in alignment with your body.

Hotels give more pillows than necessary as you might want to use them behind your back sitting on the bed (imo). Or 1 pillow 'looks' stingy.

Oysterbabe · 01/05/2017 10:19

One otherwise it's too high and hurts my neck. I'm a tummy sleeper if that makes a difference.

SayNoToCarrots · 01/05/2017 10:19

I somehow keep getting pillows that are too skinny to be used singly, but far too fat to be used doubly.

user1489179512 · 01/05/2017 10:20

One. Better for you and more comfy.

mrbob · 01/05/2017 10:20

I like 2 on my bed because it looks nice but only use 1 because I sleep on my front. If I have a cold I sleep on my back on 2 because it is more comfortable. Plus agree with above- got to have a few if I am propped up in bed reading etc

SelfObsessionHoney · 01/05/2017 10:20

Two pillows under my head, one wedged under bump, one between my thighs and one behind my back.
And DP wedged onto a sliver of bed.

CakeNinja · 01/05/2017 10:21

3 for me. 2 under my head and one between my legs.

NapQueen · 01/05/2017 10:21

One for sleeping and one for huggin

Ikea do pillows according to your sleep position so I buy the side sleeper.

rollonthesummer · 01/05/2017 10:21

2 big ones!

VelvetSparkles · 01/05/2017 10:24

Three. One under my head, one between my knees and one to hug

Topseyt · 01/05/2017 10:45

Two. My neck goes very stiff if I ever try to sleep with just one.

Babymamamama · 01/05/2017 10:50

Two for reading one for sleeping.

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/05/2017 10:52

One but it's a latex side sleeper so quite fat and firm. Normal pillows I need two

Miniwookie · 01/05/2017 11:31

One. As recommended by my physio. And my neck has been much better since I stopped using two.

TheSnowFairy · 01/05/2017 11:47

Three. All under my head.

MusicToMyEars800 · 01/05/2017 11:50

2 pillows but my pillows are not very plump Grin

Redredredrose · 01/05/2017 11:51

One pillow, as flat as possible.

citychick · 01/05/2017 11:53

one under my head and the other is propped up against the headboard.

dh uses 2 under his head but i can't sleep at that angle.

apotheke · 01/05/2017 11:59

2 for sitting propped up and lounging in bed, 1 for sleeping. I usually sort of shove one of them upright at the headboard and sleep on the other but sometimes throw one on the floor.
