Is it possibly to actually die from a period? Because I think I might be.

BStard hormones. 30 bloody year of pain and zits and mess and chocolate cravings and pain and gunk and anger.
Fucker is 20 bloody days late too.
And now it is finally getting the better of me and Fear i am actually dying.

Fucksake. I can't be the first woman ever to have Period Pain on my certificate.

I got so sick of the fuckers I now get the depo injections, as I felt like I couldn't stand another one.
Horrendous cramps, days of diahorrea, migraines and bloating - no thank you.

I'm no good with fake hormones either. They unhinged me to the point where I am dangerous to myself and others.

Is it actually possible to be allergic to progesterone and oestrogen?

I have felt this a number of times. I've had periods so heavy I've passed out, I've become anaemic, I've had paid where I was claiming the walls in a&e screaming for help Blush periods are bastards!

If you are genuinely in that much pain and,mpossibly bleeding very hard,myou would be very reasonable to go to hospital.

There is no list of types of pain that deserve medical aid or not.

I have wondered this.
My adolescent period pains felt very much like my uterus was trying to escape out of my foof, and labour pains were less painful!
I think it is technically possible, if your blood pressure goes to high perhaps that could have some knock on effects.
Its certainly possible to bleed out.

Mine were the same for many years but since using the Mooncup instead of tampons it has settled right down. Still v painful each month and was hoping to get rid of that by having the Mirena put in this week but doc couldn't do it as I have an "Anti-inverted womb" plus a polyp so have to wait to see gynae to a) check polyp out and b) insert coil! Bloody body - I hate it!! (tongue in cheek as it has borne 3 wonderful children Grin)

ps I believe gin is excellent for relieving period pain

I feel your pain - my last period was 3 weeks late and when it finally came the pain was so bad I was moping like a cow.

Have you tried child's pose? That and (bizarrely) an ice pack on my back were the only things that vaguely helped - i get cramps in the back mainly though.

Between the ages of 12 and 16 I regularly died of period pain, used to throw up and pass out too.
Once I went on the pill it was a complete relief.
Women in our family really seem to suffer, I know my Nan did and my Mum and poor DD is only 12 but felt pretty rotten last month.
I also had to explain to Sil ( who has never ever suffered from it badly) that my niece might not just be acting like a total drama queen

And I've got to work tonight so
a. Can't take any good drugs
b. Need to ration the crap drugs so I can take some tonight.
c. Can't die as need to work

I have a friend who got a hormnonal coil and it really helped her? I don't know if that could work for you, seeing as you said you had issue with taking hormones.

I used to puke when I was a teen. So scary, seeing as I got my period with 10-11-

My mother was agsint painkillers/I didn't even really know they existed.

It was such a relieve when I was old enough to buy some for myself/didn't have to ask friends at school everytime.

I once farted SO Loudly in front of the whole class.

But I was feeling nauseous, faint, had stomach cramps... Not that anybody cared about that.

I have internal adhesions which make my periods agony. Drugs lots of drugs. I feel your pain

What helps me is doing an Asian squat and drink heaps of yarrow tea (starting a few days before it starts).

And sports... My periods got better when I started doing a sport comptetitively and trained a lot (had very little fat but a lot of muscle...) Not sure why, tbh... And the yarrow may be a placebo, I guess?

The Asian squat however is a gift from the gods. I still get the most awful backcramps when I have my period and this just strecthes relaxes everything...

Mirena if you can take the small amount of hormones. Practically everyone I know my age has got it.

When I was in my 20s I had a friend who fainted on the first day of her period if she didn't stay laying or seated practically the whole time - it happened to her while she was out with me, while crossing a busy road! So I imagine you could die as an indirect result, if it makes you faint in the middle of crossing a road without anyone to try to half carry you the rest of the way across while simultaneously trying to stop traffic!

Tbh, I still haven't completely forgiven my mother for not giving me painkillers/sending me to a genuine doctor (a gp, not a practitioner of homeopathy...!!)

Anyhow. Yes, I remember dying. And the shame of sometimes vomiting infront of the whole class, feeling cold, being a sweaty shaky mess.

My period issues luckily bettered themselves (well, with the help of sports). So strong painkillers and an exercise mat are enough to endure them... Tampons make everything worse ime.

I have endometriosis and I totally know what you are going through. Can you call in sick to work and take the good drugs?

Moreno was a bastard too. Hurt and bled for 8 months then fell out sticking in my cervix in the way. That was fun

I also go completely mental on synthetic hormones and cannot imagine anything more horrific than a mirena continuously pumping them into me. The horror

Haven't read whole thread but I said nothing for years about pain I was because I thought it was normal. Turned out to be endometriosis, ovarian cysts and adenomyosis. Treatable if not curable. Stuff that helped pain: cutting out dairy (seriously - still don't know why), exercising (obviously not while in pain) and getting a diagnosis just to know that I wasn't going mad. You can see the cysts and endo on scans...

You can't see endo on all scans. Only way to get a definitive diagnosis is via laparoscopy. I've had 2 and both times they lasered off the endo. Nasty recovery but oh the relief
