To not get the Tom Hardy obsession?

I'm 37 so maybe this is why I just don't get the obsession every female seems to have with Tom Hardy.
He just looks like an ordinary guy to me but the amount of Facebook memes and posts my female friends post about him and I don't get it. What am I missing?

Hmmm, too many clean-shaven gifs on this thread. The beard definitely works for me.

Zilph - i was surprised to learn of his background. Just looking at him, i got the impression he was aiming for a more Ray Winston vibe than Hiddleston/Cumberbatch.

He has family near (ish) me and has been spotted in a few local pubs

I havent seen him...i wouldnt do anything if i did see him you understand, i just think it would be cool to say that i had seen him

Mmmm, James. Very nice. Funny how a layer of dirt, terrible hair cut and a disembowelling knife only adds to the sex appeal! Anyone who hasn't seen Taboo is probably going WTF? Add in the grunts, and how nice he is to his horse and kids, yum.

I first encountered him in Bronson, he isn't playing a sexy role at all, but his screen presence and great acting got me interested. I think he's really sexy and great at what he does. Attraction isn't just about great looks, it's charisma.

I don't find him attractive at all in bronson but that is a fantastic performance. He is extremely versatile.

He is very versatile and mesmerising in his performances. I find him compelling to watch and I think it is because there is an undercurrent of danger about him.

Child 44, Legend and Taboo are my favourites of his, different in each but powerful and unforgettable. I thought he was the best Heathcliffe I have see, he came closest to the book depiction of the character.

It was a 4 part series. Also called the virgin queen. I can't remember which one was the UK title. I think a BBC production. Anne Marie duff starred as Elizabeth I

His hair in that was far better than Wuthering Heights! I liked his wee earring too. He was very young and cute in it.

I loved his Taboo haircut!

What is with the voice though. I assumed it was put on for taboo but in the sky/phone/something similar advert he has the same voice. He sounds very effected and it would put me right off.
