To want some comfy flats that look smart?

Am fed UP of wearing heels when I need to be stylish.... I need something smart / comfy / suited to quite low arches (so not really flimsy ballet pumps), that will go with a dress or trousers please for under £50...
Your suggestions please mumsnet???

P.s: I quite like these:

I get that they are comfy but Sketchers always have a look of "supermarket trainers" to me. I just don't think they look nice. (Sorry Sketchers lovers) 🙄

Size wise I found the French sole ones pretty true to size (im a 4.5 and take a 4.5) I have quite narrow feet but they do different width fittings.

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 27/04/2017 22:16

My feet don't believe in smart, flat comfortable shoes. Sad

I've got wide feet with comparatively narrow ankles and high arches. If my feet aren't anchored in at the ankle I may as well rub a cheese grater over my feet as to get my toes in without crushing them, they then slop off the heel removing skin rapidly. I have never found a comfortable slip on. The shortness and width means that any kind of straps or laces just look frumpy and usually like kids school shoes.

I'd love to wear something stylish and dainty and be able to take more than 10 steps in it! Hotter have revolutionised my feet in the glamour stakes.

Fit flop do ballerina style shoes now which are wonderfully comfortable.

As an example but they do lots of different styles. Like walking on air.

I don't have flat feet but I own a pair of fletcherLovell flats and they are great! They have a 1cm heel, leather inner and are really soft and easy to wear. Well worth the postage, my only regret is that I didn't buy more!

I like Jones the Bootmaker flats (eg: the Garbo model)

sunbird17 · 29/04/2017 07:28

The only shoes I can wear for long periods of time before blisters are the moccasin-type ones from Fat Face. Too casual to wear with a suit but work with most other outfits.

sunbird17 · 29/04/2017 07:29

Oh and forgot to mention, I have flat feet!

Applebite · 29/04/2017 07:30

These came up in my fb feed today and are reasonably priced - never tried them though!

Sebago boat shoes are great. Expensive but I've picked some up in Sales before now.

I just bought some Butterfly Twists. The styles are cool, they are mega comfy and look pretty on my foot. Check them out. Pretty cheap.

KenAdams · 29/04/2017 08:20

How do these look like supermarket trainers Hmm

Note3 · 29/04/2017 08:22

Wow thanks so much for the link to asos flats. They're lovely and just what I'm after. There's also some lovely ones someone else posted from new look which would be my treat pair. Ooh great thread Smile

hollyisalovelyname · 29/04/2017 09:45

Bisue ballerinas are fab. They have low heels and are really pretty- cheaper than French Sole.
They are Spanish and very hard to find though Sad
Secrets Sales sometimes sell them.
I got mine from BrandAlley a few years ago but don't get their emails now. Are BrandAlley still in business?

BitOutOfPractice · 29/04/2017 14:22

From this thread it would seem that my idea of smart is different to others! Shock

m0therofdragons · 29/04/2017 15:28

I totally blame you guys! Just bought some flat black shoes for work - my comfy work shoes are looking very old and my last attempt to replace them with m&s ballet pumps meant my feet were changing shape. Just bought rocket dog flats in the sale!

I have wide feet and have always struggled. Used to think Gabor were for old ladies - but yesterday bought two pairs! These ones www.gaborshoes.co.uk/womens-c1/shoes-c2/amy-classic-bow-trim-ladies-ballet-pumps-p345?attribute%5B1%5D=91 and a pair with a wedge which are slightly higher.
