Am fed UP of wearing heels when I need to be stylish.... I need something smart / comfy / suited to quite low arches (so not really flimsy ballet pumps), that will go with a dress or trousers please for under £50...
Your suggestions please mumsnet???

P.s: I quite like these:

Sketchers are amazing and I wear them all the time for work- I have attended many a high profile meeting in my sketchers ballet pumps. They are like walking on clouds...

SingingGoldfinch I have the ankle book version of those 😃

I've heard Air & Grace are good (alas they are too expensive for my budget).

noeffingidea · 27/04/2017 07:35

Kickers do some nice loafers.

nelipotter · 27/04/2017 07:48

I second ASOS. I buy all my work shoes from there, their fit is usually spot on and they have free returns if they don't.
I don't trust many places to buy shoes online (normally like to try them on) but ASOS are reasonably priced and the shoes are great quality.

Try these! They're the next one I want...

Has anyone suggested loafers?

PolarBearGoingSomewhere · 27/04/2017 08:00

Have you looked at Butterfly Twists? I have a couple of pairs but have only worn them a few times so can't vouch for longevity. They are comfy though - some sort of memory foam insole.

I find Dune flats very comfortable - I have last year's version of these and they're great. They are over your budget at the moment but Dune are always having sales.

Therealslimshady1 · 27/04/2017 08:13

Gabor ballet flats are comfy and sturdy, yet feminine

shinynewusername · 27/04/2017 08:13

I also lust after these (not necessarily in this colour) though not sure I can justify buying at the mo Sad

Littleraincloud · 27/04/2017 08:20

I like Zaxxy but I'm not sure how to link. You can get PVC which are super shiny or just regular faux leather. They come in peep toe too. I think they look a little smarter than 'supermarket' flats for want of a better description

Littleraincloud · 27/04/2017 08:25

Sorry its spelled "Zaxy"

User2468 · 27/04/2017 08:29

Seabago deck shoes, smart and comfy.

SurferRona · 27/04/2017 08:30

Ballet flats haven't enough heel for me. I got another pair from m & s but wanted these www.marksandspencer.com/leather-block-heel-loafers/p/p22496022?image=SD_01_T02_0231_Y5_X_EC_90&color=APRICOT&prevPage=plp None in when I needed to buy so got a different pair of loafers. Still a bit sad!

Fantasticmissfoxy · 27/04/2017 08:35

French sole do ballet pumps with a small heel that are really comfy and come in loads of different colours / materials

I like these from New Look. Worth having a look in there.

Fantasticmsfox, I like those French sole ones! How do they come up size-wise?

Ivory200 · 27/04/2017 16:41

Try Gabor Assist. Ballet pump styling in a proper supportive shoe. I've had mine in black patent for at least 6 years, and worn them loads. Really comfy, even with bare feet!

BarkeepersFriend · 27/04/2017 21:29

I echo the Skechers suggestion: sweet salvation for fallen arches!

Applebite · 27/04/2017 21:33

Ballet pumps usually hurt my feet - but the French Sole ones don't. You might get some in the sale, there's one on right now? They do other flats too:

Applebite · 27/04/2017 21:34

Oops should have read thread. Sorry fox!!

sexymuthafunker · 27/04/2017 22:04

The Frenchsoles are lovely.
Bit pricey though.
But maybe worth it if they are V comfy.

I reckon we'll made BPs with a bit of a heel would be ok.

Really want something that looks smart enough to wear with dress... hard to replace heels for some outfits, but just so fed up of being uncomfortable when smart.... Confused
