I have 50 minutes exactly to get this guy to ask me on a date

What do I do?

He's been here a week in supply work. Instantly thought he fancied me as he always chose to sit by me. He would wear headphones when on his own but when I sat down immediately took them off and sat next to me. But he never ever spoke to me.

We both spent every lunch hour sat in silence, blushing the entire time and awkwardly avoiding eye contact. I'm the most extrovert person you can find but I can't even speak to him. He makes me too nervous.

I'm not completely sure he fancies me but I think he does.

He leaves work in 50 mins. I don't work in his department so not really appropriate for me to say goodbye as I've not even spoken to him.

What the hell do I do? . I promise I'm not 13!!! Grin

Come on OP, are you a man or a mouse?! Look at this as one of those character-defining moments.

I've asked out many a man. A couple said no - but the right one said yes, and we're now happily married with two children.

OnionKnight · 25/04/2017 15:43

Send a smoke signal.

Chillidawg · 25/04/2017 15:43

Say "Hey, if you ever think of applying for a permanent job here, and you want the inside info, keep my number, here it is" and run off to the loo.

VladmirsPoutine · 25/04/2017 15:43

Just fucking ask him. If he says no then so be it. Stop dithering and casually ask if he'd like to go for a drink sometime. Just be very casual about it.

Pinkheart5915 · 25/04/2017 15:43

You either think you like him enough to ask him out or you just don't bother and you'll never know what could happen

Life is too short to not do these things, last minute when his leaving give him an envelope with your number inside You won't see him once he leaves so what harm will it do

ToDuk · 25/04/2017 15:44

Ask for his email so you can follow up an important issue that has arisen.

InaDelerium · 25/04/2017 15:44

Krimbler, that has made my afternoon. "Fanny display" Grin Grin

CatThiefKeith · 25/04/2017 15:46

Just ask him! He's leaving anyway so you won't have to face him anymore if he says no..

BillyButtfuck · 25/04/2017 15:46

Just ask him out!

GoodDayToYou · 25/04/2017 15:46

Do you have a friend who could probe him for you? (I mean that in the nicest way.)

BTW, what did you mean by 'mouth'?

Oo, I know! Organise a leaving do for him!!

TheClacksAreDown · 25/04/2017 15:46

Good lord enough already of the drama llama behaviours. Just say "you know bob you've been here all week and I've just realised we've not had a proper opportunity to chat. why don't we have a catch up over coffee at some point and you can tell me how your new role/job search/limbo dancing course is going"

Silverstreaks · 25/04/2017 15:48

Post it note with Pint? written on it. Casually slapped on desk in passing.
To the point and not embarrassing.

robinia · 25/04/2017 15:49

How many minutes have you got left to sort this out? Stop dithering, nothing ventured, nothing gained. And if it's a no at least you can cross one thing off your 'things to do before I die' list.

GoodDayToYou · 25/04/2017 15:50

You just need a couple of other people who fancy a drink after work and you've got a leaving do! Sorted!

MycatsaPirate · 25/04/2017 15:50

Just ask him!

I am getting irritated just reading this.

MongerTruffle · 25/04/2017 15:51

If he has a blazer or jacket, write your phone number on a piece of paper and as you walk past, drop it in his pocket.

hollyisalovelyname · 25/04/2017 15:52

Not place marking.
Oh no, not me.
No advice OP.

Hopelessromantic1988 · 25/04/2017 15:52

It's not that easy to ask someone out.

5 minutes left.

He's still sat reading.

If you don't ask him out OP, Mycats is going to come over and steal your stapler.

CookieLady · 25/04/2017 15:52

Ask him! Come on!

Hopelessromantic1988 · 25/04/2017 15:52

I'm considering writing a note.

I've post it notes!

OP posts:
Krimbler · 25/04/2017 15:53

He's reading, you're just sitting there. Who else is there?

BellMcEnd · 25/04/2017 15:53

Send a message on a pigeon?

Or.........just ask him! What have you got to lose? He's leaving anyway

Scrubba · 25/04/2017 15:53

Why only 5 mins? Is he leaving for good and not coming back?? Nothing to lose in that case....

Bobbins43 · 25/04/2017 15:54

I'll give you my number. Call me and hand him the phone...

(Please ask him)
