Urghhhh. This quote seems to have reared its ugly head again (in my life at least, twice on fb and once on IG) .

Clearly Ms. Moss has never eaten a millionaires shortbread from the M&S café...

OP posts:
TakeAwayThatCaterpillar · 21/04/2017 16:02

Chew on this, Moss:

ragged · 21/04/2017 16:03

Ah gin..... food tastes hugely nicer when you only eat lightly. So the skinny tastes better thing is kinda true.

bumpertobumper · 21/04/2017 16:11

Kate Moss never actually said this. It is an old weight watchers slogan, which was misattrubuted to her.

Still a load of bollox which feeds into neuroses.

Quimby · 21/04/2017 16:11

I agree with the quote 100%

ILookedintheWater · 21/04/2017 16:19

...but black pudding, home made lentil soup, Shropshire blue cheese, roast chicken, goose-fat-roast potatoes, bhindi bahji, boiled egg and buttery soldiers.
Hmm, I'd quite like to be slim again but realistically, on a day to day basis, lots (and lots) of things taste better than the anticipation of being slim feels!

expatinscotland · 21/04/2017 16:25

I feel sorry for orthorexics and food haters . . . mmm, more for us.

NotInMyBackYard1 · 21/04/2017 16:28

I love food - there are many many items of food that taste better to me than being skinny feels. But then I don't care that much about being skinny. I'm just within the acceptable weight range for my height and thats good enough for me. I have an exfriend who obsesses and obsesses about how fat she is, will live on 600 calories or less per day - and is at least a stone lighter than me - I just can't find it in myself to care that much about being a size 8!

TWOBANANAS · 21/04/2017 16:34

I was admitted to hospital with anorexia when I was a child and skinny feels absolutely shite. Kate Moss is a nob.

squoosh · 21/04/2017 16:36

I prefer the very condescending 'little pickers wear big knickers'.

Branleuse · 21/04/2017 16:37

I like delias mantra better. Is it worth the calories/? I dont eat crappy food for the sake of eating, but i do love some proper calorific stuff that i would try not to eat all the time or too much of, but when I do, its worth the calories

OutOfBlueComesGreen · 21/04/2017 16:37

Drugs keep you thin innit.

squoosh · 21/04/2017 16:38

I much prefer (I think Liz Hurley's) 'I want a small bottom more than I want that cake'.

Liz is like, SO behind the times. The world is obsessed with big bottoms these days. Eat the cake Liz, and get some junk in your trunk.

GooodMythicalMorning · 21/04/2017 16:40

Been a size 22 and a size 8. Tbh I was happier when I was a size 22 ate what I wanted and was unaware how damaging it was, but it was unhealthy being big so in the long run better off without all the junk food. I do miss those days when I didnt care though.

floraeasy · 21/04/2017 16:41

A moment on the lips.....a lifetime on the hips...... (another oldie).

MovingtoParadise · 21/04/2017 16:42

I have burnt off more than 600 calories walking today. The two hot cross buns I just ate tasted amazing

ALemonyPea · 21/04/2017 16:42

I've lost almost 6 and a half stone in the past year. I can assure you, there are food items I'd happily sell my first born for if I could eat them and still stay like this. Mainly biscuits and bread.

Destinysdaughter · 21/04/2017 16:43

"A Vat of Dark Chocolate Next to a Vat of Peanut Butter

Imagine the dunking possibilities! Dunk a cookie in the chocolate, then the peanut butter. Or maybe the peanut butter, then chocolate. Or maybe dunk your whole body in both and just be there in that moment. That’s exactly what it feels like to have core strength."

(From the article posted upthread!) Smile

Dulcimena · 21/04/2017 16:44

I agree with it too. When I was at my slimmest (skinny for me but not painfully so - it's all relative) I felt that I could take on the world. Now I just feel guilty for eating empty calories because I know that I could get back to that confidence if only I had the willpower. And yes I fully appreciate how fucked up that sounds.

What's that other phrase, a minute on the lips is a lifetime on the hips? Or something like that. Lovely food lasts for minutes, feeling great (por rubbish) about yourself is 24/7.

backwardnames · 21/04/2017 16:50

I agree with it up to a point. I love being slim (from exercise and eating) and I feel attractive and strong. However, when depressed I am skinny and feel shit. Not really tried overweight in a meaningful way.

IAmAmy · 21/04/2017 16:51

You can eat lovely food and feel healthy. I generally eat pretty healthily, don't eat much chocolate but never starve myself and always have proper meals. I also play a fair bit of sport and exercise regularly so feel I can enjoy stuffing my face with burgers and pizzas sometimes, usually at weekends. I'm not skinny but am a healthy weight. I don't feel great or rubbish about myself constantly, can't pretend I'm always happy about how I look, but I do know I'm healthy.

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 21/04/2017 16:52

I was skinny with a BMI of 19 and didn't feel any magic taste or particular buzz about it Hmm 3 pregnancies later I am a BMI of 24, eating pretty much what I like, much fitter and muscular and not struggling with stomach-knotting anxiety. There are so many foods that taste better than the prospect or the reality of thinness. Not wanting to offend anybody, if people really agree wih the quote then I feel sorry for them - you can have so much fun and pleasure with food! Your size is only one aspect of who you are and it's not entirely within your control.

flipflap75 · 21/04/2017 16:55

Haagen Daz Salted Caramel tastes better than skinny feels. Unfortunately.

MarvellousMayhem · 21/04/2017 16:59

Supposedly it is a misinterpreted comment about skinny feels bakery oreo cookie doughnuts... not sure if it true. eg nothing tastes good as skinny feels oreo cookie doughnuts.

trevortrevorslattery · 21/04/2017 17:08

FALSE: Reese's peanut butter cups

jdoe8 · 21/04/2017 17:09

Never heard it before. It's kinda true though.

Feeling fat and having more shit to eat only makes you feel good for a short amount of time. Eating healthy and working out does make you feel good long term.
