To ask if you would wear these in public

I'm really fed up with being told that it looks like I'm wearing pyjamas, people joking that I haven't bothered to get dressed today etc.!

AIBU to wear this type of short out of the house? It's 33 degrees where I am currently.

I hate denim shorts, they're bloody uncomfy!

I wouldn't but only because my pale chubby thighs would horribly rub

HallowedMimic · 19/04/2017 19:59

If I had the legs for them I would, but they do look like pyjamas.

My hypothetical legs would ensure I didn't care what anyone said though! Grin

StarryIllusion · 19/04/2017 20:00

I wouldn't personally but that is more of a massive thigh issue than anything else. If I had the legs for them, sure. I don't think they look like PJs. Confused

PodgeBod · 19/04/2017 20:00

Loungewear or pyjamas imo. Ok for a quick trip to the corner shop at most.

Screwinthetuna · 19/04/2017 20:00

Yes I would

Amockingjayhey · 19/04/2017 20:01

Yeah totally

Whathaveilost · 19/04/2017 20:01

They are fine to wear in hot weather.

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 19/04/2017 20:02

I have these...as pjs Grin

Violetcharlotte · 19/04/2017 20:02

I would if I had the body for them!

justnowords · 19/04/2017 20:02

yh they are shorts. Why wouldnt you?

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 19/04/2017 20:02

God no. They're perfectly fine for lounging or indeed as pyjamas but they're not quite right for wearing around and about imo.

Goatfucker · 19/04/2017 20:02

I would use them as pyjama bottoms in the summer as they are not very stylish.

ShatnersBassoon · 19/04/2017 20:06

They look like sportswear more than pyjamas to me, so perhaps if I was forced to do sports I'd wear them. I wouldn't wear them, or do sports, for fun.

FumBluff1 · 19/04/2017 20:08

If I had the legs I would wear them!

MrsGB2225 · 19/04/2017 20:10

I think you have to be young and skinny to wear them and even then unless it's to the beach or in the garden I wouldn't.

doughnutobssession · 19/04/2017 20:10

I have them and wear them for running

KayTee87 · 19/04/2017 20:11

They are a bit pyjamay (new word). If you don't like denim shorts what about short cargo type shorts?

SecretNutellaFix · 19/04/2017 20:14

They look like a throwback to the Pineapple dancewear epidemic of the 1980's, worn with a bubble perm and a seriously naff headband in matching jersey.

Sorry.

HarryDresdensLeatherDuster · 19/04/2017 20:29

I wouldn't because I'm 50, short and fat Grin. DD does all the time though cos she's 22 and tiny! If you have the legs, wear 'em!

PuffinNose · 19/04/2017 20:32

Do you like them?
Do they cover your privates?
If the answer to both questions is yes, than what does it matter if otyer people think they are pjs?

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 19/04/2017 20:32

I have some that are similar that I wear round the house & in the garden in the summer but they would never venture actually off my property...

harderandharder2breathe · 19/04/2017 20:33

Sports wear, pjs or the only people I've seen wear them as normal clothes are skinny teenage girls

But wear whatever you want

ohnothisisme · 19/04/2017 20:35

Thanks everyone. I feel better now Smile

If I was younger and thin, then yes.

At 40+ and fat, no way.

Nofunkingworriesmate · 19/04/2017 20:49
