To not know who the hell the vote for?

As far as I can see my options are:

Tory - probably get the best deal for brexit but I utterly abhor some of their current policies and the way lives are being destroyed

Labour - an inefficient opposition with nothing to suggest they would be any better in government. Their leader is, at best, naive. As an aside I had vowed to never vote for them after they brought in university fees but that's small fry these days!

Lib Dem - no idea what they are doing as shown with the coalition. Plus my local candidate never bothers to get his leaflets proof read which doesn't give you faith in his efficiency if he were in power.

UKIP - should no longer be in existence. They got what they wanted - brexit- so no longer have a point. The trouble with single issue parties is when that issue is gone they really need to disband.

BNP - no. Just no.

Greens - a wasted vote.

Independent - see above. Also in a government run by parties even if they get in will never be more than a backbencher.

Mrs Pritchard's Purple Party - sadly not real.

Have I missed anything?

The tories are destroying lives.
I'm so confused that people won't vote labour because JC is not that polished and sharp. It's not just him that'll do everything you know? Labour is clearly the far better option.

GreenGinger2 · 21/04/2017 07:55

Corbyn and the current ramshackle Labour Party terrify me. Will be voting Tory for the first time ever. Brexit,Trump and Corbyn, no thanks.Shock

Headofthehive55 · 21/04/2017 08:04

Look at how your council is run?
I lived in an area where labour ruled. I really didn't like how they ran the show - redistribution of services to their favoured areas, leaving others without. Bad planning or spite?

StatisticallyChallenged · 21/04/2017 08:09

The way I see it with Corbyn is like a company with some really decent staff but a useless manager. Doesn't matter how good the team are with an ineffectual manager

Imbroglio · 21/04/2017 08:10

Why is Green a wasted vote?

Vote for your best local candidate. Parties need good people to be elected locally in order to have a decent pool of people to be the next leaders.

Local council is different from Parliament.

I just cannot get over Gordon and Tony's party book keeping fiasco that screwed the country's bank balance for so long. For giving the thumbs up to a bad idea leaving thousands without a decent local hospital. For making our students struggle to finance their education. Nor can I bring myself to vote for an ineffectual party with a faffer as a leader. Lib Dems gloating leader makes my skin crawl and he comes across as grabby. Much as I dislike Mrs May's cv and some of her cabinet, she has handled herself well in europe so far and I believe is the best person in the room to get us through this. We have an ideal for a brexit deal that people want...no more cost, no more benefit migrants, stronger borders, free trade and the right to make our own laws and rules but there is no way the power crazy idiots in Brussels are going to make it easy and agree to this. We are adopting all laws immediately and will spend years sifting through changing and adapting for our use. The eu are proposing a big divorce bill, this needs firm negotiation, they simply will not give us free trade without the migrants. Be real here. If we are out, we are out. It is down to the trade negotiations to come up with a trading arrangement ....will it be wrong or just different? Can we please all the people all the time? No. Now the decision has been made, can we just let her get on with it and stop trying to micromanage every aspect? The bloody EU will dictate what happens here and I doubt very much whether Jeremy, Nick or Teresa are going to change any minds. So far, the EU have behaved like spiteful teenagers, throwing a tantrum because they have treated their mate so badly the mate has found another group of friends so needs to be punished as not to lose face. Her calling a GE is about waiting to have her position confirmed before heading into a process that none of us would want to go through at work without the full backing of the "company". Article 50 is triggered. We are leaving. Nothing is going to reverse that and the latest pissing contests from EU ministers confirms my belief that they are self absorbed and self promoting idiots. Turkey has just put two fingers up to democracy and yet the EU has not written off them joining. I may not agree with all their policies but I do think teresa is best positioned to handle that bunch of nasty, useless eu bureaucrats.

I'm voting for the least worst option. And also live in a pro remain safe lib Dem seat in the north. But dim Tim will be getting my vote.

All the people who consider that the Conservatives have ruined the NHS do you understand anything about PFI? (Private Finance Initiative ) Labour was responsible for setting up the majority of these and as a result money which should be there for the running of the NHS is instead being used to make repayments on these schemes.

Headofthehive55 · 21/04/2017 09:04

I agree that pfi showed labour is not to be trusted on the NHS. They wanted shiny new hospitals - but at what cost? So it appeared that they were caring but really it was a mirage.

Desperad0 · 21/04/2017 11:12

Not to mention the fact that it was Labour that changed gp contracts so they could opt out of out of hours paving the way for private companies !!

Believeitornot · 21/04/2017 11:14

I do understand. The Tories introduced pfi under john major and labour foolishly carried it on. I never liked pfi and it is a Tory invention.
