*Trigger Warning* AIBU to not understand how this YouTuber isn't being investigated for child abuse?

So I actually found out about this channel via another large forum I post on. Essentially, a YouTube channel which is called DaddyOFive (it's reasonably large, around three quarters of a million subscribers) centres around a blog made by the father, with 5 children. The upshot of it is, people were angry about how the family, lead by the father; bully one of their children Cody, and pass it off as just 'good old fashioned parenting!'

At first until I checked out the videos I honestly thought it couldn't be that bad. I was horribly wrong. Some of the videos are entitled:
Dad burns Cody's Pokemon cards
Dad destroys son's DS
Dad forces son to throw away his toys
I'm sending Cody to military school

In their most recent video, because Cody had been bad (smeared poop on the walls; a recognised sign of abuse and distress), they took all the other kids to DisneyLand.

These videos are horrific, and despite them being located in the US, I really feel like CPS should be investigating and YouTube should shut the channel down for child abuse.

If you can bear to watch the videos, the guy's name is DaddyOFive, and I'd urge you to take a few minutes and report their videos for child abuse. I really don't understand how in this day and age, this kind of thing isn't investigated more quickly. The child is sobbing, and regularly in horrendous distress at the bullying at the hands of his parents and siblings, so these videos could trigger people; that's why I haven't directly linked them and why I've placed a warning on the top of my post.

I saw the one where the dad goads the child to hit his sister. It's a proper slap.

Just seen this one on Twitter. It's vile the way he encourages the other kid to slap her, then when he does DO5 is all like "not that hard!" Ffs what did he expect? Emma was crying and obviously it hurt but did he comfort her? No he continued filming. It's sick.

Those kids are going to be so damaged if they aren't already.

Have you seen the video he's posted via twitter with the mom wailing and crying (apparently because her family has been "torn apart" by the haters) and the kids all rush to comfort her.

I thought, despite all you've done to them, they are still better human beings than you!

So the father says it was scripted? May be it was. That will be for US child services to investigate if they think it is.

By the way mumsnetters who voted for Brexit it is EU data protection law which can helps ensure parents cannot subject their children to public scrutiny under the EU data protection directive . Post Brexit do fight to ensure our privacy rules are protected as we will not have the EU behind us supporting them.

All the videos have now been removed, apart from the video where he blames deFranko for starting all of this. The man is gormless from what I have seen, the wife seems to be very dangerous and fuels the situation. Bad people.

Just wanted to add, the mother in these videos is not Cody and Emma's real mum.
It's seems the two kids bio mum filed a police report about the videos after she seen one of the older kids slamming Cody on the floor and thrashing his bedroom.
On the report it states that the father obtained full custody over a false accusation against the mother, the whole thing just seems sad and very fucked up 🙁
How the hell has this piece of shit got full custody of these kids?!

totally, that 'police report' is full of misspellings and obviously fake. And we have no way of knowing the allegations against the mother were false. I suspect the poor kids have two abusive parents.

I'm not defending the mother, for all we know she could be the same. But to take a child out of abusive situation and put him in another seems like the relevant services have massively let these children down.
I haven't watched the YouTube videos, I really don't want to.
I'm surprised I've never come across them though, my kids watch Ryan's toy review and sgteev (chases corner).

Unfortunately I think this may well be a case where the authorities couldn't know it was abusive until they got there. The children appear to be fed, clothed, clean. The house is tidy, the parents work and are solvent. They pay for trips and have family support. The elder step siblings were already there and they don't seem to be mistreated. Sadly I think a lot of this goes on because the authorities have no way of finding out about it. They don't have a crystal ball unfortunately.

I'm not sure you can discount it as fake due to spelling - if his ex spells half as good as he can then they're roughly the same phonetic level as my 7 year old! His spelling is appalling!!!!

the house is tidy but from the little I have watched on youtube It seems to be the kids doing it while being shouted at.

The ink one was awful. That woman giggling away about how she was going to put the ink on the carpet and "prank" the kids, and the next screaming and swearing about it and real fear from thise boys.

All videos have been taken down but i watched a 'summing up' video featuring clips.

It's strange because you obviously hear about children being g abused quite a lot but you can't really imagine it, but these people have actually filmed themselves doing it for a to see.

I'm sorry SailAway I can't link. You might have seen them, DeFrankos was posted late last night the title has disgusting in capitals. Drama Alert interviewed do5 and mo5 a few days ago and has followed up on his interview. It's a crying shame this has been allowed to go on and shared on yt. It's a mess. I have my doubts that the children will be removed from the situation.

I'm sorry but I'd never scream and swear at my children like but they certainly wouldn't react like that if I'd accuse them of something either, they'd most like sulk and stomp off not be actually scared witless of what is gonna happen.

For anyone wondering, this is a copy of the supossed police report filed by codys mum last year, and there is a real officer by this name working for said sheriffs department, which makes me feel it must be real

I'm afraid I'm the sort of person who will believe something is real until proven otherwise, it doesn't hurt to be suspicious of things obviously, but I don't immediately believe this is fake
