Just that really. If you had an unlimited budget, which property would you want?

Today I like this one: www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-58856248.html

I would need to change some of the wallpaper though so it isn't perfect.

Went a bit crazy but found a few with potential, but would need work doing. So if you're strange like me and like looking at properties, I've cherry picked the ones from a selection of 100. They either had potential, or looked really nice.

I chose them based on surroundings, garden, potential.

This one has the setting and character but ideally would be closer to the sea. Other than that it's perfect, maybe living away from the sea front gives you a bit more privacy and the chance for gardens like that. Although would need to add a downstairs bathroom some how, in keeping with the property.

This one has loads of potential, although I think I'd have to paint the cladding a pale green, or some other groovy colour. But if you look at the floor plan it's really quirky.

This one is really lovely, I'd need to have some work done to it but it ticks all the boxes. Starting to think a sea view is over rated.

This would be perfect if it wasn't on the high street Sad

Ooh a project... suitable for a hobbit maybe.

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-63679190.html

This one is amazing period features wise, but I'm not quite getting the two kitchens...

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-37890288.html

Ooh this one is period feature heaven and has a 3rd floor that I'm not sure what it is...

Another period feature place, bit confused by one of the bathrooms. The gardens look lush though.

FairytalesAreBullshit · 18/04/2017 09:49

For my escape to the country I found this one which has lots of space and rooms for privacy, plus lots of period features.

FairytalesAreBullshit · 18/04/2017 10:03

Oh gosh this one is in such a beautiful location. I think you may need to do up the inside a bit and move some walls, possible add an extension.

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-53251775.html

Sorry I love construction and property. Hopefully it's entertaining someone, if not I'm entertaining myself.

SecretNortherner · 18/04/2017 10:08

Decor would have to be changed, but the views are worth it www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-55937797.html

FairytalesAreBullshit · 18/04/2017 10:12

Finally - dream, dream, dream home, as it's a blank canvass for you to do as you wish:

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-58162807.html

Not everyone's cup of tea, but close enough to the sea, needs no work doing to it apart from decorating if you wanted to make it individual. Plus curate the gardens.

FairytalesAreBullshit · 18/04/2017 10:13

SecretNortherner - do you get your own lake included? It looks like if you had the capital you could make it into a fabulous home. GrinBrewCake

WashingMatilda · 18/04/2017 10:58

Ohhh I love this thread!
My friend and I will send links of amazing places to each other and talk as if it's a genuine consideration and we're not totally skint. -we even have a fake property developer called Terence who is helping us develop our portfolio-

We loved this one, it's right round the corner from us -and we'd slowly drive passed it all the time like dicks-

SecretNortherner · 18/04/2017 12:10

Fairytails. Yes the lake is included, also has 4 waterfalls and a few streams which flow through the land.

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 18/04/2017 12:24

Heron78, the problem with that is that the adjoining semi is a nursery! Just a bit further out of town though and you could have this. I also love the terrace on Grove Lane.

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 18/04/2017 12:50

This is rather nice.

TheElementsSong · 19/04/2017 09:48

heron78 I've actually been to that house for an open garden event! Didn't go inside, but it really was lovely.

overthehill Love those two you've linked to as well, if only we had the money for either of those Sad Are you local as well? ^^

Ah well, at least we can walk around the area and dream...

morningtoncrescent62 · 19/04/2017 11:44

Gosh, this thread is like just like my guilty pleasure Escape to the Country with all the boring bits where they faff about making cheese or carving wood taken out.

Although I'm rather taken with the terrace on Grove Lane which perhaps isn't quite in the spirit of a country escape. Matilda, it looks like someone has gone and bought your gorgeous Northampton pile - outrageous of them.

This one in Norfolk has loads of interesting period features and the best swimming pool I've seen yet - in addtion to pond and river. It's a strong contender for me.

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 19/04/2017 13:10

TheElements, I'm fairly local, used to be more so. I do love that area of Headingley though. This is one I had my eye on too...5 years ago it was on the market for £250k! (Needed a lot of work but still...)

ajandjjmum · 19/04/2017 13:57

I could waste all afternoon on this thread.

So.....contemporary design - lots of glass - Cotswolds/Dorset/East Devon. Happy to find a project.

Seen anything??? Grin

(Can't help feeling that there are some estate agents going to be getting very excited, when they see in amount of interest in houses on this thread!)

Applebite · 19/04/2017 13:59

Ah, house porn. So much better in every way than actual porn!!

LadyCallandraDaviot · 19/04/2017 14:27

love this one

I have modest tastes www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-58840894.html

osprey1 · 19/04/2017 14:54

This one for me...actually don't care as long as it has a water view...and a garden...

The most gorgeous house, sadly not in my price range. This estate agent has marvelous properties for sale at cheaper prices too.

Stone, stained glass, Henry VIII!

TheElementsSong · 19/04/2017 17:42

That's another gorgeous house overthehill! Might go for a little walk just to have a nosy Smile.

morningtoncrescent62 · 19/04/2017 17:48

Oh, that Torquay one is wonderful, LadyCallandra. Whoever designed it certainly knew how to max out on the sea views. Only thing is, I'd have to put a proper outdoor swimming pool in. The indoor one is all very well, but such a shame to have to go inside to swim - or even shock, horror mix with the riff-raff on the beach on a lovely day.

This one's rather fun. Not sure what I'd do with the stable block though. Do you think if I rented it out it would cover the mortgate of £8,000 or so a month?

SherlockPotter · 19/04/2017 17:52

Look at the view!! 😍
