AIBU to be severley pee'd off with the minister of the church and another 6 people playing brass instruments outside the church at 6am this morning!!
Myself and 2 Dc (7&10) stayed with my partner last night and the kids sleep in the room right next to the church car park. Me and my partner were woken with a bloody shock when this music started...it was so loud!! Youngest DC woke up with a fright crying so I went out and asked what they were doing (I thought law was 11pm-7am for noise etc...didnt think the church would be exempt!) and was told its easter sunday we will only be 15mins or so!!😠😠
I understand its easter sunday but come on...there still has to be some respect or pre warning that they were doing this. My kids have got a busy day with family and they are going to be tired and cranky, as none of us got anymore sleep, through no fault of there own.

Im so tempted to complain to the church!

.......and breath!! 😂

Devilish a night worker may well be trying to sleep at 6am In my old night job i did 5pm to 3am. By the time id got home and unwound a bit i would go to bed about 4.30am.

My young neighbour does shifts at Mcdonalds at all hours. He was extremely unhappy when a neighbour across the road had a wood chipper going at 8am on a Sunday morning.

I thought that at certain times at night noise had to be kept to a minimum?

kali110 · 17/04/2017 16:36

Atleast thats what we checked.

People seem to accept late night fireworks which wake people up, though, 'because it's Chinese New Year/divali/bonfire night/new year'. I'm not sure brass band at 6am 'because it's easter' is very different

This. The 'noise nuisance' doesn't really come in, unless it is regular / ongoing. I mean, I think a brass band at 6am is a bit inconsiderate, don't get me wrong, but if it's a one off, I'd just say it is what happens when you don't live in isoltion in the same way that I do when someone starts powertools when I'm trying to sleep, or sets off firework once I've gone to bed, , or squeals and laughs and shouts at the teens next door's party, or all sorts of other noises at times that don't suit me.

I just cant get over, lives next to church, is shocked when there's a bit of noise. Or her OH lives next to a church.

Practise those sad faces for the DM.

My DC wake up between 6&8, I rarely get sleep from pain, I also sleep on the sofa, although I've been entertaining them talking in my sleep recently. It's normal for me to drop off about 6ish till hubby shouts my name due to the random shite I'm talking.

When it comes to Christmas with the excitement of Santa, how do they cope?

FairytalesAreBullshit i've lived nExt to a church all my life and currently ended up by 2 and have never had anything like this!
So no just because op lives next to a church, she shouldn't expect a bloody brass band At 6am!
