Am I blocked?

Yes I know it's childish, I shouldn't give a toss etc, but can anyone help me work out if I've been blocked on FB please?

Person in question has vanished from friends list. They still show up on search bar, but if I click to access profile it comes up as not available. They are still on my messenger, which shows they've been active today?Confused

My first thought was that they'd deactivated profile, but now I'm wondering if I've been blocked!

Any thoughts from the more technically minded out there?

Sounds like the account may be deactivated, at least temporarily. If they had blocked you their profile would not show on a search.

What is more likely - that they have deactivated their profile or that you had been blocked?

It only shows on search bar though? If I click I can't open profile.

Can you deactivate account and stay on messenger though? I didn't think you could.

I've just checked what happens when I search someone I know I've blocked (on the app) and their profile doesn't come up at all, not even in search bar.

It sounds like the account has been deactivated, otherwise she wouldn't appear in the search results.

You can deactivate and stay on messenger. My friend did it a few weeks ago.

If someone blocks you they do still come up in a search. My OH is very childish and blocks me on Facebook if we have a big enough argument. Always comes up in search but when I click his name it says the page is unavailable or can't be found.
When you block someone they disappear completely.

I think fb and messenger are separate though so you could still be on messenger even if not on fb?

Perhaps it's just deactivated then? I'll ask a friend to check later.

Not that it makes it much better as I know it's all to prove a point to DP and I! So childishConfused

You have been blocked I'm afraid. You can deactivate facebook and still have messenger because dp has this however his profile doe not appear if I search for him on facebook.

You can deactivate your profile but still keep messenger, if you were blocked they wouldn't show on your messenger

I think they've deactivated their account. My friend said she could still see my profile like this when I deactivated a while back.

I know someone who has blocked me and when I search for them they don't appear in the search results at all...

If someone has blocked you, they will not be visible to you in any way.

If they have temporarily deactivated their account you will still be able to see their account but not view it anymore.

I don't think you've been blocked

Pretty sure they've deactivated their account. I've just deactivated mine and am still on messenger. When DH deactivated his he still showed up in search results for a while, then that stopped.
